To ask where you got married in scotland?

I feel im stealing other peoples ideas but here goes. I would love to find ou where you got married to have a look at venues and areas? I have posted before but i have to change alot of plans.

We got married in Guthrie castle near Forfar/Arbroath. Was stunning, exclusive use venue.
Also been to a fab wedding in Edzell castle (ruin).

When looking at venues, murthley castle was great. Had a lovely chapel. Scottish weddings are the best.

Got married at Maxwell Mearns Castle Church which is in a suburb south of Glasgow then wedding at Crutherland house hotel in East Kilbride. Another good place in that area for a wedding is the Eglinton Arms in Eaglesham.

Another The Caves in Edinburgh wedding here. Great venue!

My SIL was married at Edzell Castle, gorgeous place for a wedding too.

I got married in the winter gardens in Duthie Park, Aberdeen. It was fab because we didn't have to buy flowers and there's a huge piece of stained glass that hangs above the area you get married

It is worth bearing in mind that in Scotland the registrar is licensed but you dont need a licensed place so you have much more freedom about where you want to get married.

The Glass house in Edinburgh is fab.

Ceremony in glasgow Uni chapel and reception at the house for an art lover.

This will completely out me in RL but I got married at Edinburgh Castle then had reception at Dynamic Earth. There are things I would change about my wedding but the venues are definitely not one of them!

I got married in McCaigs Tower (first image) in Oban with a reception in the village hall after. Both my siblings married at Ross Priory (second) on the banks of Loch Lomond - one a summer wedding and one a winter wedding

Inchture Hotel between Dundee & Perth, lovely hotel and best wedding I've been to

On the Isle of Mull (its where we live), local church, then onto a local hall. Catering provided by www.glengormcastle.co.uk/ , but you can also hold weddings at the castle and grounds

Pinkisthenewpink I got married at Bunchrew too! Well. frightful church ceremony first but the reception was held at Bunchrew House. :)

Humanist ceremony at Glasgow university in the Randolph Hall.

Reception was at WEST brewery by Glasgow green.

Have recently been to weddings at Culzean castle, Lochgreen hotel Troon, Enterkine house Ayrshire. All lovely.

Another at Haddo House Chapel for ceremony and the hall for reception. The grounds are spectacular but importantly for me, I grew up there so it was already a special place for me.

Culcreuch Castle in Fintry, 10 years ago.
Keep meaning to go back for a visit, but have never gotten round to it. DH cycled past in March when he was in Scotland for work. He then proceeded to get totally lost and had to phone his sister to come and collect him! (Sorry for digressing!)
