To not want her to wear my jacket?

KimHollywood · 15/11/2014 14:00

Out last night with two friends, a work colleague of one of my friends happened to be in the same bar so joined us for a drink (have never met her before whether this is relevant or not)

Anyway me and one of the friends went to get another drink, it was busy so must have been waiting 10-15 minutes. Came back to the table and they were gone.

Assumed they'd gone outside, so went to join them and the work colleague was wearing my jacket and smoking. I didn't mind her wearing my jacket as it was cold, but felt she was taking the piss by smoking. Aibu?

OP posts:

Why can't I be jealous at this problem? I think it's weird that someone has such a non issue yet there are others have actual real life problems

ClawHandsIfYouBelieveInFreaks · 15/11/2014 19:50

Tally I doubt the OP thinks it's a real problem. She wanted to gauge reactions. Nothing wrong with that...people use AIBU for that ALL the time!

MeganChips · 15/11/2014 19:51

Tally you have absolutely no idea what other problems the OP has or doesn't have, you're making yourself sound ridiculous.

OP, YANBU. I like a cigarette if I'm drinking but would never drea, of doing that.

Cantbelievethisishappening · 15/11/2014 19:51

'Err, excuse me, what the hell do you think you're doing taking my jacket to smoke in? Do you think I want my coat to stink of fags? Get out of it right now!'

Yeah..... sure you would have said this to the unknown colleague of a friend Castle Hmm

DancingDinosaur · 15/11/2014 19:54

And how do you know the op doesn't have other major life problems tally? Oh wait...thats right.....you don't!

nocabbageinmyeye · 15/11/2014 19:56

But "her friend" didn't wear her coat Tally, some random woman who knows someone she works with did, big difference! Cheeky mare

PotOfYoghurt · 15/11/2014 19:56

Tally you have no idea what the OP has to deal with in their life. For all you know they could be going through colossal amounts of distress and troubles in all aspects of their life and is choosing to start a thread about something seemingly mundane to take their mind off of their other problems, but you wouldn't know- all you've done is make a snap judgment based on what you've read in one post.

Tallypet · 15/11/2014 19:59

mom doesn't matter if i smoke or not. I would not use someone coat to smoke in.
I am genuinely jealous that this is a problem in the ops life.
I'm also gobsmacked that I've received such negative comments.

A forum of a few thousand women and I get pounced on because I think / am jealous that this is a real problem Shock

Eminybob · 15/11/2014 20:10

No tally you're being pounced on because you're being a bitch. No one asked you to comment on the thread.

And by the way, your first comment was YANBU, but you have subsequently said you think YABU so make your mind up.

Jolleigh · 15/11/2014 20:10

ODFO Tally. It doesn't have to be a burning issue for someone to post. People post about minor irritants all the time.

Tallypet · 15/11/2014 20:23

Right. I'm stepping out of this silly post.

MassaAttack · 15/11/2014 20:25

I remember when my mum was about to die, a work colleague literally sobbing and having to take the afternoon off because one of the ushers at her wedding, which was a fortnight away, had yet to buy a shirt.

I hated her for that.

Maybe tally is in a similar space?

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 20:27

tally maybe you should start your own thread about your own issues, instead if spamming this one.

OP YANBU. That's disgusting.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/11/2014 20:28

Well, jealousy is not an attractive trait.

Tallypet · 15/11/2014 20:29

Like I said I'm jealous that this is all OP had to deal with.

A friend wearing her jacket to smoke in.
Not being nasty. Just astounded at the major issue

CaptainAnkles · 15/11/2014 20:30

Yes, it was rude of her to take someone's property without asking, regardless of what it was, tbh. But I don't think you need to all pile on another poster for saying that it's not that big a deal.

MiddletonPink · 15/11/2014 20:30

This really happened?

Someone you have never met took your coat while you're at the bar so she could have a fag outside?

Sounds far fetched.

DancingDinosaur · 15/11/2014 20:32

And again tally, how the fuck do you know this is all the op has to deal with???

Tallypet · 15/11/2014 20:32

drink I've not spammed at all. Perhaps you could point me to my spamming?

wakeywakeyteaandcakey · 15/11/2014 20:32

I personally wouldn't be bothered about it, but then I'm soft and wonder why people walk over me!

lunar1 · 15/11/2014 20:36

Tally I post trivial things fairly often. I didn't post when my first husband died. People use mn in different ways for serious things, trivial things, advice and random chat. Who are you to decide what is going on in each persons life?

You owe the op an apology.

MrsDarylDixon · 15/11/2014 20:38

Start your own thread tally

YANBU op

lomega · 15/11/2014 20:40

#brassneck

Tallypet · 15/11/2014 20:41

Aibu has reached new levels of bitchiness. Really, I have an opinion about this and I'm being leapt on?!
I'm surprised that no one has actually read the actual 'dilemma' and you've all decided to pounce on my opinion.

FFS all that happened is someone that OP knew put a jacket on to have a cig and OP is outraged.

OUTRAGED. NOT Once did I name call, insult or troll and I'm getting a hard time because I dare to disagree?

Jolleigh · 15/11/2014 20:42

The OP didn't know her.
