To think Carrie from Homeland is the most irritating character on the telly right now?!

Trying to drown her own child, dropping drones and pulling her hair behind her ears with alarming force - why do they all fancy her and how does she get a job in intelligence!

*a huge diva

Greengrow, it's not that she doesn't want to be with her child all the time. She doesn't want to be with her child at all. Ever. She has no bond. Someone else looks after the child cos she doesn't want to. She's a figure of pity not a figure of powerful womanhood.

Fabulassie · 13/11/2014 15:40

Women sometimes don't bond with their babies. It could be an interesting subject to explore. But, somehow, it seems to be presented as proof of her mental illness. I am pretty sure that bipolar disorder is not commonly associated with this problem, although post-natal depression might be. It seems that the writers used to put real effort into writing about the disorder in a thoughtful way, but ever since she purposely went off her meds to trap a terrorist (still don't buy that storyline) it's like they just use it as a blanket excuse for her being "crazy" in a general/unlikeable way.

I was quite interested in Brody's family tbh.

How it impacted on them him being back again.

But really the crux of it was supposed to be had he been turned?

i think that it did go on too long though & thought that when it was known that he had been turned then he had to die somehow.

I do love homelands I've got to admit....... I've been re watching S1-3, while waiting for the new episodes of 4. And I loved the carrie and brody romance ! (sorry)

Was Shock at the revelation that Mandy Patinkin is difficult to work with (would never have been able to view Saul in the same way), but it's okay, have looked it up and he regrets it now Grin:

Totally agree op. I really don't care about her at all and that's wrong.

I cared far more about Walter in breaking bad so how fucked up is that?

I just fancied Mike. Oh well at least there's Quinn.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/11/2014 19:08

I just always think of Saul as Inigo Montoya

He's sex on legs then, now, forever (sighs dreamily)

Agree! He seems so genial.

TheLovelyBoots · 13/11/2014 19:10

I remember Saul in Chicago Hope. That was pretty good, but that was in my 20's.

Chandon · 13/11/2014 20:11

Inigo montoya????!!!!

I did not know!

Love that film

Despite all her misgivings she's succeed because she's manipulative - fragile mental health not really an issue when you have your boss over the barrel for treason ... but I think the anger she causes viewers over some of her choices is what makes her an interesting character.

It's a good show at manipulating - All my female friends were devastated at the end of season 3, where as all the male ones were thinking FINALLY!
