To think Sir Bob n Midge should just write another flippin' song?

No denying the original was, and still is awesome. Round 2, with Kylie n Jase et al, not the original but hey, it was still ok. Round 3, the biggest Christmas cringe going, that rap... had me screaming at the tv 10 years ago and now. they. are. doing. it. again. To add insult to injury they're having one friggin' direction on it.

Aibu? We are massively into Christmas in this house but this I can't abide, am I just bah humbug or should sir Bob n Midge be using their massive talent to bring us something new to sing along to instead of letting a classic be murdered again?

Why not donate to Red Cross or similar? Midge Ure waived his rights to royalties at the beginning. Guess who didn't? And to add insult to injury, not only do the people who donate by buying this record line his pockets a little more; when he buys another property he will put that in overseas trust funds just like all his other property and companies, to avoid paying taxes. Search for Ebola Red Cross, it's very easy to donate, and they can claim tax back on it.

They raised over £1m in minutes from the text giving alone. The demand for the song cause the (first ever?) iTunes crash.

The UN appeal is still millions short of its target. If this money makes a perceptible difference to meeting the need, then it will be a good thing.

(BTW The Band Aid Charitable Trust receives the royalties and other payments from performances (in their accounts, both Bob and Midge are trustees).)

Before Bob and his cronies jumped on the charity band-wagon this Christmas, there was already another song planned to raise money for the Red Cross and the Shorncliffe Trust.

It's by the Peace Collective and the song is 'All together now', which was first released by The Farm. The lyrics are based on the Christmas truce football match from the WW1.

I will be buying this one.
