It drives me absolutely potty. What the actual fuck does it even mean? Isn't up-cycling just the same as recycling, really? Taking someone which was used up/going to be thrown out and using it for something else?

Why can't these rich fucking ponces just say up-cycling?

God, I'm in such a bad mood this morning and listening to some cunt on the radio going on about up-cycling some old shite has driven me around the bend.

can you read from down there on the floor Lemon?

well that was slightly more original than "get a life". You are improving. Though don't give up the day job quite yet.

My comment was about the nasty judging of PEOPLE that has gone on on this thread - but you only quoted the half that suits you. And yes, if you judge people who use words as utter twats/cunts etc simply for using a word you don't approve of, then you really could benefit from a dose of tolerance and broaden your horizons a little.

ODFOD or go upcycle a wheelybin or re-purpose your old dusters into chabby-chic cushion covers.

Why are you so uptight Lemon?

why are you such a supporter of twat-speak?

What will MN be if we can't mock pretentious types and I can count myself as one.

It is a public service to bring us back to earth.

Hearts
I've always loved that phrase

Kindred spirits then Smile - sorry Wittier

It's possibly just me on this thread who's artfully distressed that my children forage in my wardrobe and source their latest vintage look.
Daughters, your precious vintage or potential upcycling project is actually more commonly known as my clothes Confused

when you say distressed, do you mean in a fairly politely pissed off sense of the word, or do you mean it in the "Changing Rooms" sense of brillo pads, hammers and boot polish ?

It's ok enrique I like the phrase too. It was indicative of mum and my relationship that she could say it without me being upset.

I think it's a brilliant phrase. :)

mousemates

What do you mean when you say "culturally-mediated and situated"?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 10/11/2014 21:10

Lemon I think I mean it in the modern way, of being a bit knackered really Grin

Wittier aaw it's a connection.
