To buy this couple a toilet brush for their wedding present?

Going to a wedding soon. I invited the couple to my wedding, they RSVPd yes, but only one came (the other was away for the weekend). I didn't find out until the day so paid for a meal that wasn't eaten and had an empty seat etc

Was just perusing their wedding list and looking for something in the £20-30 range. There isn't a lot, but there is a toilet brush for £25...

If it's on their list, go for it.

WerewolfBarMitzvah · 09/11/2014 19:10

YANBU.
But gosh that's a lot for a toilet brush!

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 09/11/2014 19:10

That sounds far too nice. Buy them one from the Pound Shop, and wrap it in Christmas paper Grin

Thrif · 09/11/2014 19:10

If it's on the list, buy it. They won't even notice it was supposed to be an insult though.

WooWooOwl · 09/11/2014 19:11

If they want a toilet brush, which they clearly do if it's on the list, then YANBU to buy one for them.

YABU to buy a present you wouldn't like as some kind of pay back. This shit happens when you organise any big event like a wedding, get over it. Give them their toilet brush gracefully and with genuine good wishes for their day.

Buy a toilet brush from Ikea for 99p In fact buy 25 of them and it will still only cost you £24.75. A huge parcel and imagine their faces when they open it

raltheraffe · 09/11/2014 20:18

WTF? A bog brush for £25...

britnay · 09/11/2014 20:27

For that price, I'd expect it to clean the loo by itself!

ghostyslovesheep · 09/11/2014 20:27

is it this one

who spends £25 on something to clean shit stains!

wrongtrousers · 09/11/2014 20:31

I couldn't say for fear of outing myself. I would expect better reviews for the price though!

Not sure what I would expect from a £25 loo brush - the capacity to independently clean my loo, without human in-put?
Go for it. A thing of beauty is a joy forever. And they clearly want this bog brush, so YANBU.

thenightsky · 09/11/2014 20:35

£25 for a toilet brush? WTAF?

I thought toilet brushes were disposable things... buy from pound shop and replace every 3 to 6 months.

Confused
ZingOfSeven · 09/11/2014 20:35

no way.

buy them a metal scrounger and attach it to a stick

springalong · 09/11/2014 20:40

that was rude behaviour on their part. So sorry, I would buy a loo brush, similar to what they have asked for but much cheaper and call the list company and ask them to remove the loo brush from the list as purchased elsewhere.

Summerisle1 · 09/11/2014 20:48

£25 for a toilet brush? Do they have particularly superior shit?

addictedtobass · 09/11/2014 20:53

I would just give them some vouchers from whatever the shop is OP. Did they apologise for not showing up? Unforeseen thing or something?

PedantMarina · 09/11/2014 20:54

DP says YANBU.

But I think he's got the wrong end of the stick. Grin

thenightsky · 09/11/2014 21:07

danger What The Actual?

Shock

It's for scrubbing off shitty skid marks.

bluebeanie · 09/11/2014 21:07

Wow danger, just wow

raltheraffe · 09/11/2014 21:14

I have the exact same brush as that and I got mine from asda for about £5

AcrossthePond55 · 09/11/2014 21:17

Ha HA HA!! And that apparently doesn't even include the brush! My cheap white plastic loo brush would look so lovely in that copper holder!!!!

dangerrabbit · 09/11/2014 21:18

Yeah. I've got one similar, except mine is solid gold, natch. As copper is just for peasants.

WowserBowser · 09/11/2014 21:18

'I would have taken it back but walking through the store with a used toilet brush does not appeal to me.'
