Definitely too young! Ds1 and I are watching The Sarah Jane Adventures as he's 7 and I think he's too young for doctor who!

Misc. my did is 4.4, she loves Dr who, although I always watch the new episodes before she is allowed to watch them, needless to say she hadn't been allowed to watch any of the new series as they are far too dark for her. She is quite happy to watch the Matt smith and tenant episodes. I always watch with her and try to explain its not real

I let him watch the fat blobs one having just watched it myself, but I don't want to give him nightmares, so will hold off.

Sarah Jane is a good idea though, maybe I'll watch some by myself and see if they'd appeal/ not freak him out!

Ah but the future is not fixed...

Even SJA is pretty scary - the protagonists are teens and SJ - I don't think anyone "good" ever dies though.

I believe the response "wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey" is sufficient for all Doctor Who questions
