DSis and DBil say/post this fairly regularly - love them dearly but this gives me the rage.

I thought it came from the Cut The Rope game. Nom Nom is a little monster that loves munching sweets and you have to feed him. He has such a sad little face when the sweet is lost or destroyed

YANBU - can I also add to the list "yummer" - not even a real word & people who like to photograph food & then post pictures on social media with #getinmybelly - just make me think of the food jumping off the plate & down their throats!! possibly choking them on the way down

I think it's funny and use it all the time. Most of the other words mentioned here are annoying though.

It's not the same thing as yum, though, it's supposed to be an eating noise, like Homer Simpson scarfing a doughnut.
