To think we can drive up to the Emirates Stadium?

We are soon going to a match at the Emirates Stadium a treat apparently and DH is wondering what the chances are of parking anywhere near the stadium?
It would cost us £60 on a coach and £120 on the train so driving is a cheaper option but don't know if it's possible

Hi it's on the Piccadilly line or great northern railway. If you park further out at Oakwood station or round Enfield area it's much cheaper. It's resident only near stadium and lots roads closed off on match days. Nearest station finsbury park or arsenal tube. Depends where you come from as well

He has before paid to park in schools etc before but you have to get there eaeaearly!

Why not drive to a station on the same line and get a travel card? End of Victoria or Piccadilly line and walk from H&I or Finsbury Park.

If its a weekend check tfl website for maintence works on lines. Nearest tube i think is holloway road on picadilly line.

Parking is generally controlled around the stadium and in surrounding roads on match days. You can park in some unrestricted areas a short distance away and then walk (around Manor House, up and off Stroud Green Road and on the other side of Finsbury Park and off Green Lanes or closer to Clissold Park. But you need to head to the Haringey side rather than the Islington side as that's where much of the parking is controlled. Also allow enough time as regulars will know where they can park and will head for these areas and snap up the spaces

Park out and the tube. £120? How far are you for the train to cost that much?

Park in the commuter car park at edgeware sainsburys.
Catch the northern line to kings cross and back up to arsenal.
This assumes you're coming from the M1.

Park near me at top end of Piccadilly line or near new barnet on over ground. The latter is good as very short train journey.

South coast, costs us £40 each to get train to London

Could you drive up to and park in south london and then get a travel card to travel to the stadium on the underground and/or overground?

You could drive to Blackhorse Road Station (postcode E17 6JJ - big car park opposite on Forest Road). That gives you a Victoria Line train straight to Finsbury Park - follow the crowds to the Emirates. It's a short journey and the Victoria Line is quick and efficient (normally)

Park at Brent Cross; then 210 bus to Finsbury Park and Piccadilly Line, or Northern Line to King's Cross and Piccadilly Line. Use tfl website for time estimates, it's very reliable. Longish but you are safely parked which you won't be near the stadium.

I don't know about the emirates stadium but DH said around Anfield stadium there are residents who stand outside their houses and charge fans to park on their drives. Don't know if they do that there.

Have a look on parkonmydrive. We have used it to park at Twickenham and Wembley and it is very simple.

DH has worked as a Steward at AFC for the last 20 plus years and he would never drive to the grounds, preferring to drive to Walthamstow Central (Northern end of the Victoria Line) and getting the tube, and as he has to get to the grounds at least 3 hours before kick off if it was easy to find a space nearby he would be early enough to find one. He has even chosen to get there on public transport while the tubes were on strike, and that involved a very long walk from Hackney.

At Walthamstow there is a large car park at the Tube Station or DH parks on one of the few unrestricted roads near Vestry House Museum.

You will struggle to park.

As others have said, park at a station further out and get the train in.

Where I live, parking is free on weekends. I'm happy to give you the postcode. It is about a 20 min journey Away from the stadium.

There are schools, private parking bays etc you can park in if you can get there early enough - couple of places on Plimsoll/Ambler roads, St Joan of Arc school and church both have car parks (off Highbury park/Northolme rd corner). Not sure of costs though. And I'm guessing the more popular the match the harder it is to get a space.

Drive to Highgate Village and then take the 271 bus down the hill to the stadium. I have seen lots of people do this.

TheDragon where do you live? I don't suppose Islington? I used to work there and have to pop up with the children every now and again, it's a pain to get on a train with them!

Park at Ebbsfleet, get the train to st pancreas, walk across the road to kings cross, get an over line train to Cambridge, foxton or anywhere that stops at Finsbury park (3 stops) and walk to the stadium. It's only a 5 minute walk.

Most of the surrounding roads are closed off on match days, and the ones that aren't are all resident parking only.
