every night we get home from work/school/nursery around 6pm.
I come in get dinner ready, respond to everyone's varying needs. ..juice, tv, fruit, dinner, games, pyjamas etc etc. ..while dp sits on couch and mucks around on his phone.

tonight after a tough day at work I have come home packed dd off to her dads and filled the bath with roasting bubbly water and took a soak with MN and a glass of wine.

dss 1,2&3 yet to be fed and I hear no stirrings of cooking downstairs

the back story here is that I complained to dp this morning of being treated like a housekeeper/cook. his response was to tell me its all in mind Hmm

in short im fed up and decided to leave them all to it

cheers everyone Wine

Sounds like he's getting the message then!

marriednotdead · 24/10/2014 20:26

Keep it up! I'm giggling here and cheering you on Smile

On a slightly more serious note if you're soberish still, this is the perfect opportunity for you to sort this out properly so DO NOT BACK DOWN.

You both work full time so equal shares of domestic stuff is fair. And there's no way I'd ever be cleaning shit out of the bath.

How about having a 'rest' till he agrees to halfs on the chores

ThisFenceIsComfy · 24/10/2014 20:32

Great work OP. Tomorrow you can have a sensible talk. Tonight it's more wine and barely concealed smug face I think

cheerupandhaveaglassofwine · 24/10/2014 20:33

Soon you will have drunk enough wine you will no longer care about dinner

notagainffffffffs · 24/10/2014 20:35

Good for you OP. I did the same yesterday. Even bought myself a big tin of roses to eat while bathing.

funchum8am · 24/10/2014 20:37

Nice work OP. I think I am in your DH's role but I started maternity leave today so will step up get my mum to come and help

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 20:48

so he has just asked what ive been doing on my phone.
I told him I was on mumsnet.
he asked anything interesting.
so I told him I was on the drunk thread (im not) and that it was basically other women just opening a bottle and discussing their evening. I told him that id posted about doing nothing all night.
his response was. well you deserve a night off after all that you do.

a night?? hahaha. oh he is so naive Grin

He's clearly been reading the thread while he watches BBT.

Hello, Mr NamesNick!

NamesNick · 24/10/2014 21:21

he is totally playing the game isnt he builder?

let me tell you what he made for dinner...sweet n sour chicken with rice. its that microwave rice that you put in the micro for two mins. what made me laugh is that he set the microwave for two mins but forgot to put the rice in haha.
now he is claiming that he had to preheat the micro.
gosh I am drunk now

Make sure you have all the ingredients in for a nice home cooked meal next break - something from scratch.

HappyGoLuckyGirl · 24/10/2014 22:17

Haha. This thread so made me laugh. Glad you've had a nice relaxing evening Nick

Wishing I had wine to go with Inglorious Basterds and MN. Sad

Leeds2 · 24/10/2014 22:46

Glad you have had a good evening!

KnackeredMuchly · 24/10/2014 22:54

I think you both sound like great fun - enjoy your evening!

NamesNick · 25/10/2014 13:50

was lovely just to sit back and do nothing.
