I saw mug caked being made on TV the other evening by some GBBO contestants and nearly gagged.

Not as hard as the poor sods who had to sample it though.

That was the age where a slightly imperfect circle on a biscuit could trigger half an hour of thrashing tantrum from Ds1. It wouldn't have been worth it.

OfficeNewGirl · 15/10/2014 23:43

Dd wouldnt understand or notice if any of it was missing, it certaintly wouldnt result in tears etc

You're trying to have your cake and eat it, OP.

NickiFury · 16/10/2014 00:26

I'm one of those who scoffs my kids Easter eggs and Christmas choc, had horrified reactions on here for that. But I could never cut into their birthday cake before their actual birthday. No way.

SaucyJack · 16/10/2014 00:56

What's a chorley cake? Sounds like a euphemism for a turd

Bettercallsaul1 · 16/10/2014 01:03

"Happy Turd-day" just doesn't sound the same.

AmeliaPeabody · 16/10/2014 01:13

Plain biscuity/scone/cake thing, with dried fruit, from Chorley. Bit like an Eccles cake I suppose. I don't like either.

Dried fruit might just be Eccles cakes. Hmmm

To solve this dilemma next year buy/make cupcakes, you can then snaffle one safely........(have never done this of course!)

singaporeswing · 16/10/2014 03:30

Cut a quarter out and turn into a Pacman cake is surely the only solution.

SistersOfPercy · 16/10/2014 09:38

Woah now, hold on a minute..

JAFFA CAKES IN THE FRIDGE!?

What kind of person are you?! Shock

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 16/10/2014 14:39

Fury easter eggs aren't in the same boat as Birthday Cake! My DC get about ten thousand eggs....only one cake!
