because THERE IS NO FAT IN COKE! Imagine if there was, it'd all congeal at the top. Urgh.

Aibu?

You are definitely NBU! This annoys me too.

"Full fat coke" makes my bloody teeth itch.

Flangeshrub · 15/10/2014 18:27

No, it's full-fat coke. Everyone knows there is no fat in it but it's just what we say.

YABU

needsacuppanow · 15/10/2014 18:27

Yanbu, I'm glad it's not just me that gets irritated.

steff13 · 15/10/2014 18:28

It is a weird turn of phrase, and I have imagined little globules of fat floating in the top of a bottle of Coke when people say it. It's not something I've ever heard in RL, I've only seen it on MN.

Why not just say "regular" Coke? Or just Coke, since "diet" is a variation of Coke, and Coke is the original. It's Coke or diet Coke or Cherry Coke or whatever.

HereIamNow · 15/10/2014 18:28

Never heard of such a thing, is it some thing people say or is it written on the bottle? Of course YANBU.

socially · 15/10/2014 18:28

Of course it's full fat! Same as 4 star petrol used to be full fat.

Don't be so literal!

Spindarella · 15/10/2014 18:29

I thought it was "fat coke" as opposed to skinny coke? Don't think anyone actually thinks coke contains fat do they?

Mrsmorton · 15/10/2014 18:29

You should call it

"coke with at least 33g of sugar in"

more accurate.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 15/10/2014 18:29

We say it here but it's 'fat' coke and 'thin' coke Blush

Cabrinha · 15/10/2014 18:29

YANBU .
But I still like to say it! Sorry :)

gamerchick · 15/10/2014 18:29

It's just something that is said.. everybody knows what it means don't they?

SmashleyHop · 15/10/2014 18:30

YANBU- Drives me batty. It's Coke. You want diet ask for Diet Coke. Simples!

eurochick · 15/10/2014 18:30

We say it. We are well aware that it is full of sugar, not fat! It's just a turn of phrase.

purplemeggie · 15/10/2014 18:32

I refer to it as leaded or unleaded...probably even more annoying Wink

Viviennemary · 15/10/2014 18:32

Of course it's totally daft. As there isn't any fat in coke whether it's low sugar or not. Don't know where this started.

LatinForTelly · 15/10/2014 18:33

We call it fat coke. Strangely, I don't like it being called full-fat coke either. Confused

MissBlennerhasset · 15/10/2014 18:34

It's just a turn of phrase, no one (or very few) actually thinks it has fat in it.

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 15/10/2014 18:34

We call it "full fat coke" in this house and have done for years. It came from someone asking me if I wanted that coke I just ordered as a diet?!
I once replied "No, full fat for me please!" and it just stuck. (It was like being asked whether I wanted full fat or semi skimmed milk, and my reflex was "full fat").

KoalaDownUnder · 15/10/2014 18:34

In Aus, I only hear 'fat Coke'. As in, the Coke that will make you fat, not the Coke that has fat in it.

Sallyingforth · 15/10/2014 18:34

Call it full-fat-making then. That's a fair description.

CherryDolphin · 15/10/2014 18:35

I don't think anyone seriously thinks there is fat in Coke. That doesn't stop it from making my teeth itch when people say it out loud.

ithoughtofitfirst · 15/10/2014 18:36

Full fat coke! Amazing. That's so annoying.

ClapHandsIfYouBelieveInFatties · 15/10/2014 18:36

I call it fat coke too Koala...but I have a lot to do with Australians.

Trapper · 15/10/2014 18:38

It should definitely be hyphenated.

PiperIsOrange · 15/10/2014 18:38

Teeth don't itch, so I find that saying weird.

I'm on the fence with this.
