this can't be the first thread on this matter but my daughter is 3 (almost 4) and loves My Little Pony she was allowed to choose a comic this weekend and her choice, no surprise, was My Little Pony, the childs toy on the front was MAKE UP. This makes me cross. I know I'm not being unreasonable, I just needed to rant.

YANBU-no need for girls that age or even years older to be "playing" with makeup.

But also-why do magazines have to have gifts? They all do now. If I want my kids to have a magazine I want them to read something, not discard it for all the free tat that comes with it too. Drives me crackers and drives my kids crackers too when I say no because the it magazine choice has been based purely on their attraction to the free plastic shit that comes with it! Angry

YANBU - saying you don't have to give it to her is spectacularly missing the point!

Quite so LittleJohnny. Like saying if you don't approve of Page 3, don't buy The Sun etc.

Gosh I'm really surprised so many people think it's ok!
