Just too bloody cute. Grin

Especially the episodes where he can't hold his pee pee in and misses the "toilet train" ... or the episode when he puts too much "goo" in the bath and it overflows with bubbles...

I just love it.

I'm nearly 34. Ds prefers wooly and tig but I keep trying to tempt him to watch Bing on iplayer.

I need a life.

My daughter ADORES Bing. She's binge watching it right now Grin

I don't understand the knitted carers though. Why are they half the size of the children? Where are the parents? So many questions.

Cyclebump · 02/10/2014 09:33

DS and I made biscuits the other day because Bing had.

I too aspire to emulate Flop's calm manner when dealing with toddler angst, he's so fab... Sigh

Fairylea · 02/10/2014 09:44

Grin at all the Bing love!

I need to be more like Flop. Sigh. He is amazing. I need a Flop nanny agency.....!

I found the trailers irritating, especially the 'it's a bing thing' line, as usually it's blatantly a perfectly ordinary everybody 'thing'.

However, it is a delightful programme and 2.6yo dd loves it and is quite emotionally engaged with the characters.

I think the adults are little squishy ants because the toddlers are the main characters and subjects of each others' interest. Adults assist and facilitate. So it's the world from the toddler's emotional perspective. (Bit like those diagrams showing a person with body parts in proportion to nerve endings, so relative significance within our brains).

Ooh, thanks Skiing, it looks really easy - I want to do it tonight but haven't got the right colour yarn - dammit!

DS is going to love this.

Ooh if you make it concreteelephant you have to post a pic!

ConcreteElephant · 06/10/2014 11:35

Ok, yarn purchased. How did I not have red or black in my stash?! If I post this now, that means I have to crack on. I usually knit things for the kids in the size up from where they are as that's how long it takes me to finish them...

I love Flop too especially the way he says 'Indeed' all the time Grin

NewEraNewMindset · 06/10/2014 20:20

I love Bing too, its so soothing. My 22 month old - not so much Sad

lunar1 · 06/10/2014 20:25

Am I a bad parent? I've banned it in our house. I can't stand my children copying the made up names for things and ds2 started throwing cereal all over the floor.

He tells me it's a clumbo and he needs voo voo to clear it up.

Fairylea · 06/10/2014 20:29

I'm desperate to see flop all made up! How cool! :)

DS looooves this. He watches it with my mum who just loves the peace it buys her!

I find kids tv programmes very hard to tune into, my brain just zones them out at every opportunity except ben and holly

AppleCrumples · 06/10/2014 20:32

Ooh I love Bing and so does dd2 (21 months)

I wish I could be all calm and lovely like Flop am currently trying to model myself on him Blush

'Statue still dd' Grin

strawberrypenguin · 06/10/2014 20:33

DS (2.9) has just discovered Bing and loves it! It's a Bing thing!

ClimbingPenguin · 06/10/2014 20:40

I too emulate Flops parenting.

ClimbingPenguin · 06/10/2014 21:03

I too try to emulate Flop's parenting.

NewEraNewMindset · 06/10/2014 21:06

Thing is Flop is never trying to get anything else done in the day bar parent Bing. Hence why he manages to stay so serene and unflappable.

If he was doing housework, dealing with a newborn, trying to work part time and be a good husband to his full time working spouse I've got a feeling Bing would piss him right off at times with all the relentless questions and demands Grin

Discopanda · 06/10/2014 21:08

I find Bing annoying but my little girl loves him. I, on the other hand, am becoming slightly obsessed with Abney and Teal but she isn't keen.

Essexgirlupnorth · 06/10/2014 22:05

We have a black Rex rabbit called Dodge who I suspect is going to be renamed bing in a few years.
It's the only think my 1 year old had a attention span for.

ConcreteElephant · 11/10/2014 17:09

Ok, here he is. There's supposed to be a red line down his sides and over his head but I couldn't make it look like I hadn't machine gunned him so I unpicked that bit :)

If anyone else wants to try the pattern, note that it overstates the amount of wool needed for Flop's body by a country mile. It says 100g and I didn't even use a whole 50g ball.

DS loves him. He's getting carried everywhere and I slightly fear for the stuffing in his neck...

TheSkiingGardener · 11/10/2014 19:56

Oh that's brilliant!!!! Well done and so glad your DS loves him!

ConcreteElephant · 11/10/2014 20:01

Thanks for sharing the pattern Skiing!

I'm quite pleased with him, though he looks a bit stretched in that photo. I think I might have another go, it didn't take long and it's not like I don't have spare wool.

DS took him to bed. I'm very flattered.
