I don't know if there really has been more of it lately or if I'm just getting more sensitive. I really dislike it when women are referred to as 'hag', 'cow', 'bag' or 'witch' and so on.
I find it particularly jarring when these words are used by other women.
Am I alone ?

How could a cuntlodger be a SAHM? SAHM's have a role, they're not freeloaders.

SaucyJack · 30/09/2014 10:59

I would consider cock-sucker to be homophobic tbh.

minkah · 30/09/2014 11:01

Conference pear, YES, I find it very jarring. It's damaging stuff.

ArsenicFaceCream · 30/09/2014 11:02

first what did your googling say about 'bint' then?

splendide you are being goady. A SAHM is not a freeloader or any type of 'lodger'.

Cherub1066 · 30/09/2014 11:03

See I'm not sure that cock-sucker needs to be homophobic although I agree it has homophobic connotations. Which woman in a hetero relationship hasn't sucked cock? Hell, I know I have! I may reclaim it and use it exclusively as something I shout out of the window at other women drivers who cross me on the school run. I'd like to see them deny it too!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:11

Hmm... Cock sucker is either homophobic or a in the case of a female, a sex-based slur like slut or whore.

Lesbian hair cut?

ithoughtofitfirst · 30/09/2014 11:12

I can't remember. I'm really tired. I think it's Arabic in origin.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:12

To be fuck-witted implies same as half-witted (ie, your wits are fucked) so yes, disabilist.

splendide · 30/09/2014 11:13

Sorry should have been clearer - I hate the idea of using either cock or cunt lodger. My DH is a SAHD. And yes I've absolutely seen it used in that context. I was (clumsily) pointing out the equivalence.

bigkidsdidit · 30/09/2014 11:16

I HATE grow some balls. Grow a backbone is perfectly fine and doesn't imply you need o become a man to be brave.

SaucyJack · 30/09/2014 11:16

Smack granny = back beauty

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:18

Smack granny - is there a smack grandad equivalent? Smack grandparent perhaps, but still - ageist.

Shithead, again, possible mh connotations?

So, so far we have... Asshole.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:19

Backbone!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:19

Crazy, mental, loopy, stupid...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/09/2014 11:22

(I just had to double check the point of the thread then, as I'd gotten so carried away posting!)

I sent a text to my niece and just - just - managed to correct it to, "Useless aunt." I don't think the autocorrect would have given it the lighthearted style I was going for.

JoycemynameisJoyce · 30/09/2014 11:33

Did you ask someone to do something erotic with your aunt?

ArsenicFaceCream · 30/09/2014 11:34

I can't remember. I'm really tired. I think it's Arabic in origin.

Well the acquired meaning and tone is such that it is pretty unsavoury.

I suppose I should google it myself Smile

brainfidget · 30/09/2014 11:34

I find it offensive when people say "he's a cnt / twt / tit" etc.

Why equate female anatomical (crudely referred to) parts with an unpleasant, nasty man?

As an aside, it's odd that these words are rarely levelled at women, they're bitches, etc etc.

ArsenicFaceCream · 30/09/2014 11:36

Ah. That sounds more like you! Grin

I can't think of suitable insults that aren't gender-specific. But then is it also sexist to talk about a waitress? actress? dominatrix? wingman? night-watchman?
