I've been watching The Pioneer Woman on Sky the past few evenings. It's utter drivel but I LOVE it!! It's this blog writer/cook living in Oklahoma and it just looks ace! All cowboys, horses and massive ranches. I want to live there.

Infact, there are loads of places in America that I would like to live. Europe has plenty of highlights too of course. Not where I live, it's just grey!! But I reckon I should have been born American.

I have family living in California. They both married Americans to get their green cards. I would be up for that if I wasn't happily married Smile

We are in the states and I sometimes dream about the uk! I agree, the grass is always greener. There are pluses and drawbacks wherever you live. I lived in the Midwest for years and years, now we live in the West.

The public schools in my current state are awful and the only way I agreed to live here is if dc were privately educated, which we are, but the cost! And the guns...in the Midwest guns and 'second amendment rights' were not so much like here. It truly is scary being a non gun person in a state like ours!

BUT the weather is fantastic, the cost of living very affordable, we have lots of space, and I feel very safe here. Industry is flourishing, the economy is great here, it is very upbeat, and dc loves it here. If I need a doctor I get seen the same day, my taxes are nothing like the uk (really, really it is just a toss up - we have high Dr. bills and the uk has high taxes).

I still dream of the uk but I'm sure both places really advantages and drawbacks!!

You can't paint everything with the same brush.

Depends on the state DarkandStormy, we pay 50% taxes when all is said and done
