I do love summer, sun and the festival/ holiday/ open air madness but I think Autumn is an amazing season. The colours are fabulous, Halloween is a great laugh, blackberry picking is great and autumn clothes are lovely.
The combination of brilliant sunshine and crisp cold is also lovely!

"If it wasn't followed by winter I'd like it a lot more."

This ^^

It won't be long before we countless posts from people who can't afford to heat their houses or dry their washing. Winter must be miserable if money is tight.

The long dark nights really affect me in a negative way. DD's spirits are getting lower and she complained that our lightbulbs aren't bright enough so I shall be looking at daylight bulbs and see if they make a difference to our spirits.

Roll on spring and summer.

ElQuinto - please don't eat horse chestnuts/conkers. They can make you quite poorly.
The ones you need to be collecting are sweet chestnuts. Different tree entirely - long toothed leaves and much smaller, more spiky fruits.
