2 year old telling her Mum off

It's obvious that the 2 year old is copying what she has herself heard; where else would a 2 year old learn 'That man will take you away?' Etc.

I don't understand why parents are proud of these videos, I think that they need to listen and reflect on themselves.

She is a very sweet girl but she shouldn't be repeating things like that at 2 years old.

Eh? What's a camcorder called these days if not a camcorder? Confused

ValerieTheVodkaFairy · 20/09/2014 10:19

I didn't find it funny either, I would be quite shocked if my DD acted like that, and she would be told to stop.

Tiredemma · 20/09/2014 10:29

she sounds like she's possessed by the spirit of the Rev Ian Paisley

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!

CotedePablo · 20/09/2014 10:49

Got to be honest, I can't make out a word the child is saying, but it all looks thoroughly unpleasant.

CundtBake · 20/09/2014 10:56

FGS she's TWO. She's just imitating things she has heard. It's not uncommon for people to find this funny, there are numerous threads on here (including one in classics I think) about funny things your kids have repeated/come out with that make them sound like mini adults.

I really don't understand the people condemning them as awful parents, talk about over reaction?!

When I heard her talking about choking I assumed it was because her parents had told her off at some point for running around when eating, saying she might choke, as I have done to my son.

I don't agree with telling children 'the man will take you away' but some parents do still do this. Or she may have picked stuff up elsewhere.

PiperIsOrange · 20/09/2014 11:07

I found it funny.

My dc have done a lot worse.

Re the choking thing, doesn't the Dad say to the Mum 'you're going to choke in a minute' because she's laughing so hard. Then the child picks up on it and says 'you're going to choke, you're going to hurt yourself' etc etc

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 20/09/2014 11:28

Just fine, NameChanger. I just don't put my kids on the internet for all to see and laugh at. Perhaps I should have made that clear... camcorder for family stuff, not for JK-esque consumption.

Cundt... Is there no difference to you? A thread on an innocuous forum, from an anonymous poster, talking about what their children have said that is funny/dreadful or somewhere in between?

... and filming them, to be kept for all time, on the internet for all time. Children didn't/can't consent to that but there they are. Lovely! Hmm

MN is a funny old place sometimes and next time somebody posts about being on a beach and somebody so much as looks at their child, I'll direct them to this mad thread.

Ohh... NameChanger. I see what you mean. Blush

'Linda, Honey, listen'

Evabeaversprotege · 20/09/2014 11:53

Hysteria or what?

I never understand how, on mumsnet, there's such hysteria over nonsense like this.

She's not your child. She's not being abused. The parents say it's out of character for her. Seeing as they know her & we don't, I'd tend to believe them.

MsAnthropic · 20/09/2014 11:55

I saw that yesterday and thought it was really sad when she spoke about the naughty step then a man will come take you away if you're bad. She didn't make that up out of nowhere. She was mimicking what she thinks discipline is. I wouldn't have posted it either because I wouldn't be proud of the fact that my child of that age had those ideas, but suspect I am in the minority. I also found it hard to believe she was two. Either way she was very young and didn't know how to handle her parents laughing when she was trying to do something important to her.
