Evening all!

OP posts:
SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 00:52

I'm going to predict 87% average turnout across Scotland.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 00:52

allegations of electoral fraud in Glasgow; people turned up to vote only to find that they'd apparently already voted

Oh dear. That's not good. I had a proxy for my son and turned up to vote for him and me and they said he'd voted but I think they must have looked at his father's name on the list as he'd been there earlier.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 00:52

They can trace the impersonated vote as each vote has unique number, and remove it from the count.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 19/09/2014 00:52

I was worried that would happen for me as I never got a polling card - read somewhere on here that there had been polling cards go missing. But I was fine. Not sure exactly how many votes are actually involved, but I thought it was a v small number, I'm sure the figure mentioned was 10.

I'm not sure it's as big or major as Kay burley's excitement at seeing blue plastic gloves would suggest.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 00:54

Kay Burley....there are no words for that woman.

Well there are but I'd better not use them just yet.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 00:54

So what did you do Phaedra?

EarthWindFire · 19/09/2014 00:54

Kay Burley would get excited at the opening of an envelope!

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 00:55

Yes, first time leaving her and I hated it. Never again! Well, not till it is time to let her do her own thing anyway. Sorry, behind on thread, she's a bit colicky.

Danny Alexander with the feathers and stuff, I think it was on BBC. The integrity of the polls is an interesting discussion. They didn't even ask to see DH's cards, just the two names and crossed us off the list.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 00:55

But presumably they can't add in the votes for those who were unable to vote?

OneNight · 19/09/2014 00:55

It's like Xmas morning here with no sounds from the motorway at all.

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 00:55

Tension BBC have the figure as 10 ballots, which is a shame, but realistically, probably doesn't matter.

WetAugust · 19/09/2014 00:55

Kay Burley on a sky re fraud. Some people turned up at polling station to vote only yo be told their vote had already been cast. Police are now looking for specifically numbered ballot papers which they will seal and take away as eveidence.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 00:55

Home made tea cakes, yum.

Feeling from my yes voting friends is that it's a no. But it's just a feeling at the moment.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 00:56

She is a bit of a Shock Shock Everything's A Big Drama isn't she. She would drive me crackers!

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 00:56

Sorry, doesn't matter was bad wording, what I meant was, won't affect the result.

OOAOML · 19/09/2014 00:58

WetAugust did those people get to cast their votes? And as someone who has counted elections, the thought of having to find particular papers from a box is shocking.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 00:58

Latte sorry they found my son's name on the list and I got to vote for him. Bit daft of them, they have the same surname but not first names.

Crikey this site would have heard about it big- time if I hadn't !

starwarslegoboy · 19/09/2014 00:58

The fraud thing is hilarious though. Daft fuckers clearly have no idea how it all works.

LatteLoverLovesLattes · 19/09/2014 00:59

Zuid - I'm not surprised you missed her 3 1/2 months is wee, very hard to leave them at that age. much easier once they get to the annoying stage shame about the colic, it's a bitch.

No the lack of ID to vote in the UK is odd, but on the whole seems to work?! OR not, maybe that's why we keep getting a govt NONE of us wants Grin Seriously though, when voter turn out is normally so low, it would be easy to go in as different people wouldn't it?

AgaPanthers · 19/09/2014 00:59

You can now get to 14/1 against 'YES' on Betfair.

Not quite all over, but it looks fairly settled on 'No'.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:00

I can't bear to watch television but is La Bird there in spangles?

WetAugust · 19/09/2014 01:00

I remember being driven through Glasgow while Scotland were playing in the 1974 World Cup. It was like something out of 28 Days Later. Deserted.

OOAOML · 19/09/2014 01:00

What do the getting companies base that on? Do they have observers at the count?

TheWholeOfTheSpoon · 19/09/2014 01:00

Twitter was always going to be filled with conspiracy theorists tonight. And photoshopping.

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:00

There's a lot of feeling of yes and no isn't there. That YouGov guy saying 99%.

That's disappointing for Dundee in terms of turnout but better than for an election so can't complain. But I would be surprised if it was a No city.
