His Mum is SOOOO not going to win Strictly!

Also, he had no gain. He can't vote so why say anything? Just seems foolish.

Great post, Apocalypse

Of course he was entitled to voice his opinion. It was a massive day for Scots. And if you read his tweet you'll see that he changed his mind just a few days ago.

Luckytwo · 19/09/2014 07:32

He is scottish, so of course he's entitled to have an opinion. Why is there such an outcry?

rootypig · 19/09/2014 07:34

Because English people need him to shut the fuck up before they can get behind him.

We're generous like that.

I think the press have done a great job of cherry picking and showing a bias against Scotland, obviously especially the YES campaign - to whip up anti Scottish feeling.

MorrisZapp · 19/09/2014 10:53

Of course he has a right to express any opinion he likes. But if he had been for No then a different set of people would have been voicing the same reaction ie 'shut it, celeb'.

JK Rowling got a pasting for coming out for No. She isn't Scottish but I think she has enough invested here to be equally entitled to her say.

nancy75 · 19/09/2014 10:54

Just a thought - for everyone saying why wouldn't the English support Andy Murray just because he is Scottish - I take it you all supported the England football team in the recent world cup - after all they were the closest thing Scotland had to a local team in that tournament?

QueenTilly · 19/09/2014 12:36

I thought his "anybody but England" comment was funny.

I am certainly not going to hate him for supporting a Yes vote! Will I get banned from the Home Counties for not being offended by his opinions on governance?
