To send BIL a Christmas gift wishlist

Forgive me for mentioning the C word in September. Present exchange with BIL last year was a bit of a disaster. We got him an expensive video game he had previously expressed interest in but has since told us he has never played. He got us mugs (fine) and...cat flea collars!

Of course we are adults and don't have to exchange gifts this year but we would like to give him something while avoiding the awkwardness of last year. WIBU to send him some reasonably priced suggestions of gifts DH and I would like and ask him for suggestions of gifts he would like to avoid any more misunderstandings? Or should I just suggest we don't exchange gifts this year?

We send wish lists to MIL and DM as they both ask for one. We don't exchange gifts with other Adults.

Crikey Topaz, that's a lot of hair to lose in one go! Did they take it to be made into wigs? It looks lovely and shiny! well done on doing the head shave and raising all that money.

We have a £5 limit per person for adults. Dont bother with gift list. Just either agree to limit or dint bother with adult gifts or what id do regift the cat collars....

YANBU OP but I wouldn't give him a gift list. I wouldn't bother with an expensive gift, especially when the last went unappreciated. What about a couple of bottles or wine or some beer instead? Or socks, socks work.
