YANBU, things on the floor are fair game.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 28/08/2014 19:04

Bit harsh... I don't even have a dog Wink

I would however expect them to be full of crumbs and random dropped food items.

Bogeyface · 28/08/2014 19:07

Let me guess, he constantly leaves his shoes out despite knowing you have a chewy dog. But when said dogs chews said shoes, it is YOUR fault?

Tikimon · 28/08/2014 19:08

How old is the dog?

Dogs can be trained not to chew.

Also, bored dogs are destructive dogs. Does he have alternative and fun chew toys?

R4roger · 28/08/2014 19:10

and pens and lighters, and your food for christsake, in reach, dont leave it, you will lose it!

R4roger · 28/08/2014 19:10

and your swimming goggles

AtYourCervix · 28/08/2014 19:17

Of course it's my fault.

Because after being caged all night I left him out when i went to work.

I did prod a teenager to get up to waych the dog.

But still my fault.

Dog is 18 months and has a mouth just the right size to destroy a birkenstock within seconds.

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 28/08/2014 19:19

So how exactly do I stop said dog chewing?

How???????

How????????????

OP posts:
AtYourCervix · 28/08/2014 19:20

He has toys.

He has a kong

He has an antler.

But birkenstocks taste better.

Dogs will eat the following when left in ground floor rooms in those house: shoes, toys, pens, cushions, bags, sunglasses, tv remotes. All of these items must be removed immediately to places of safety.

They don't smell of me because my shoes are on the shoe shelf behind a closed door WHERE THEY BLOODY WELL BELONG

The chewed birkenstock smells and tastes of Stupid Man.

i would plant the dog on top of the teenager

VeryThelma · 28/08/2014 19:41

Slightly different but on hols last week I left my Birkenstocks in the- awning and the bloody fox sneaked in and ate 2 pairs!!!!

All I found was one chewed sandal in the field

R4roger · 28/08/2014 19:42

are you sure it was a fox? not atyourcervix dog? Grin

LiberalLibertines · 28/08/2014 19:47

I awoke from a drunken stupor deep sleep camping the other day, and couldn't find my birkenstocks! I was devastated....they were under the car Hmm

Otherwise, yes, stupid mans fault entirely.

Tikimon · 28/08/2014 19:51

Ooh 18 months is still a puppy really.

dog chewing

AdoraBell · 28/08/2014 20:03

YANBU, obviously

And Birkenstocks smell of leather, with makes them potentially food.

Just like my new sandals that I put away in my bedroom because the puppy was on the prowl for things to chews free ranging. DH opened the bloody patio doors - after I closed the bedroom door FFS- and was baffled at how the dog could have gone out the the open back door, across the garden and into the bedroom through the open patio doors and acquired my new sandals. Baffled, I tell ya! Angry

desertmum · 28/08/2014 20:46

riding boots, gloves, wellies, socks, knickers, telephone/laptop/printer cables x 100, phones, passport x 2, table legs, chair legs, the list is endless. I am never ever, ever, ever again getting a puppy. It's old dogs for me from now - I think finally our chewing days are over and the youngest of our lot is 2 next month. Bloody dogs. Good job we luffs them.

mermaidstale · 28/08/2014 20:49

That link is stating the bleeding obvious. Our puppy chewed anything wooden and no, we couldn't remove all the furniture every time we went out. He gave it up eventually but everything still has little tooth holes.

MyFairyKing · 28/08/2014 20:54

My dog is 6 and while he'd go "meh" at a shoe, he'd sell his soul for a pen or pencil.
