Sent message to DS1s friend's Dad (he does the drop-offs at school and is a SAHD)

something like " hope you had a lovely summer - DS1s mum here, wondering if ___ would like to come and play next Mon or Tues?"

reply came back at 18.40 "what about 2 night Hun"

I did not reply
then
about 10 mins later "hello r U there?"..

Have not replied and pretty sure he has the sort of phone where you can see what the previous message was - ie that I was arranging a playdate....

shall I ignore and text later in week with same message?

Ohh well that explains it all then ...they have a new baby so the red bull, desperation for a baby sitter , looking old & rough plus the slip up of calling you hun Is because they've not slept for weeks !?!?

Sootgremlin · 28/08/2014 20:17

I wouldn't, but I'd think it was more likely to be darquesse's interpretation that he was cheekily trying for an evening off, or that his kids stay up late in the holidays, I'd jump to several conclusions before I thought he was after a bit of how's your (SAH) father.

I wouldn't assume he was trying to cop off with me!

I would assume either a wrong number or trying to chance his arm for a child-free evening!

But if you look at the title of the Op, that is what the Op is thinking! That he has the wrong person!

I wouldn't automatically assume he was trying it on either. But he definitely isn't thinking of a play date at that time of night is he?
