Just that really. Making a big dinner tomorrow. Want inspiration!!!

Starter: scallops, black pudding and apple in a cider sauce

Main: Any form of roast dinner but loads of Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and proper gravy

Dessert: profiteroles with chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries

All washed down with a couple of bottles of decent beer.

A bowl of shrimps.

Then a bowl of turtle soup.

Then a large steak, well done, with hand-cut chips and the greenest of green peas.

Bread and butter pudding with chocolate sauce.

Coffee and Napoleon brandy.

And a big Cohiba, lit from the cedar.

Give me a bit longer and I will think of something less simple and more self-indulgent.

Please don't take inspiration from any of these, they all look horrid.

Anything sent in from outside with a skeleton master key and a gun hidden in it would be acceptable too.

No idea, but remembered this wonderful (and slightly blue) comic as a result of the thread title.

Of course one reason that we can't bring back the rope is that they would not be able to have a last cigarette to protect the elf 'n' safety of the officers. And their own.

Sashimi
A really good rare fillet steak with garlic butter
Cheeseboard

Bottle of champagne

LiberalLibertines · 27/08/2014 08:53

Ooooo good question, either......

A really good Thai green curry with a pint,

Or a lovely steak...with a pint :)

This is assuming an infinite appetite, but I guess the portions could be small... (actually no, they couldn't)

starter: pile of fat Scottish langoustines with melted garlic and parsley butter and home-made mayo to dip them into, also served with a selection of warm home-made breads and beautiful unsalted Normandy butter

main: probably my own roast dinner - rib of beef, cooked pink, with horseradish, roast potatoes, potato dauphinois, a mountain of Yorkshire puddings, a vat of gravy, roasted parsnips, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, cabbage with bacon and chestnuts

pud: if going traditional, probably a perfect apple crumble with home-made ginger and salted caramel ice cream. Otherwise maybe a super dark chocolate tart with home-made Turkish delight ice cream.

afters: a bowl of rose and violet creams, an espresso and a cigarette (I don't even smoke but I think the occasion would demand it...).

I am ravenous now and it's not even 10 am Grin

lurkingfromhome · 27/08/2014 09:59

Aaargh, I forgot my cheeseboard! Slot that in between pud and afters ...

19lottie82 · 27/08/2014 10:58

a gourmet burger (not just any burger, it would have to be the best EVER!) with bacon, cheese and a fried egg on top, with "proper" chips.

then sticky toffee pudding with ice cream.

washed down with a diet coke with plenty of ice and a wedge of lime.

but I agree if I knew I was going to die, I really don't think i'd be able to muster up an appetite!

Curlyweasel · 27/08/2014 11:07

YABU because it's IMPOSSIBLE to answer and now you've made me HUNGRY.

KissMyFatArse · 27/08/2014 11:09
