I hate feature walls.

enormouse · 23/08/2014 12:17

Thank you wonc. this is actually what I want my house to look like. I can dream, I guess.

Wonc · 23/08/2014 12:18

I don't know SoulSister. I have been too busy going through all the emotions - shock, anger, sadness, to get close to the paint.

It's kind of the colour of the smiley face Smile except I am more like this Sad

Grin yes please wonc! You can send your DH to live in my all yellow house and I'll come live with you.

Bettercallsaul1 · 23/08/2014 12:31

I think yellow would be lovely, if the right shade -very cheerful and optimistic. Would definitely not have grey as I find it dismal on walls in any shade. Once had tasteful and very expensive pale grey and pink wallpaper in our living room and couldn't understand for ages why I didn't like being in the room - it was just too cold and unwelcoming. Cheered up a lot after changing the colour scheme!

capant · 23/08/2014 12:36

LTB only solution.

And be sure to tell everyone you left him because he painted one wall yellow. I am confident you will get lots of sympathy.

Wink
Bettercallsaul1 · 23/08/2014 12:36

By the right shade of yellow, I am imagining a beautiful. pale, sunwashed yellow that you find in Provincal kitchens not the egg-yolk colour we once accidentally used to paint our bathroom, which looked as if custard was dripping off the walls.

MrsBeeee · 23/08/2014 12:37

My bedroom is yellow. Every wall Blush

maras2 · 23/08/2014 12:41

Love that dream house enormouse < poetry > Can we have FWWNT as a new Mumsnet official abbreviation? My FWWNT once painted the kitchen with yellow gloss so I feel your pain.

Bettercallsaul1 · 23/08/2014 12:41

I bet you've got a lovely shade of yellow, MrsBeeee!

Wonc · 23/08/2014 12:42

Bloody hell, that is actually horrible. It's like a student bedroom.

MrsBeeee · 23/08/2014 12:44

Oooh. No. Ewww. Mine is a much nicer shade of yellow.

Not that one.

I agree LTB. How can you every trust him with any decision ever again.

Bettercallsaul1 · 23/08/2014 12:45

Oh, is that it.....? Looks like mustard to me! Sincere sympathy, OP!

Wonc · 23/08/2014 12:45

FWWNT is making me a cup of tea. Unless it comes with a serve of grey or white paint and a promise to redo it, my face remains Angry

Grin At sitting in a fried egg Grin
A friend of mine once bought what looked like a lovely shade of deep regal red only to realise when it was on the wall it looked like the scene of a very tidy mass murder. She would feel your pain.
Yellow in a bedroom would make me feel a little ill.

Glastokitty · 23/08/2014 12:46

Fucking hell. I was about to stick up for him as I love yellow, but that is hideous.

Wonc · 23/08/2014 12:48

It is actually horrible isn't it?

People might think I had something to do with it
I am going to be one of those people who apologises for the state of the house before showing anyone around. Only I will be bracing them to prepare for the disgustingness of my bedroom.

Owllady · 23/08/2014 12:49

I once came home from work to find my husband had glossed downstairs Confused and we had absolutely no way of getting upstairs until it was dry. I had to spend the crest of the day in my work clothes

Owllady · 23/08/2014 12:49

The stairs! Not down stairs

Pasithea · 23/08/2014 12:50
