so I ordered a new coat offline and I wasnt in for the delivery man this morning (id been to the shop at the bottom of the street and missed him, typical)

when I got in the card through the door said 'in bin'..
so I looked in my rubbish filled bin and the parcel was under a few rubbish bags!

im sure there not allowed to do that? plus today is bin day thank god the bin men didn't come until later!

I've never had a problem with yodel. Zooplus use them which is where we get our pet food from.

Never had one left in the bin either. Surprising seeing as it is right outside our front door (recycling only so nothing nasty lol).

Amazon delivery, however, whole other kettle of fish. Only had one thing from them but it was blatently left in full sight on my doorstep. Luckily I live in a close. Grr. They are delivering something else today. We shall see…!

Had parcels left in the bin and recycling bins a few times. Usually when they're empty though, so you've got to grovel around inside to reach them, yuck.
The worst delivery was left in the middle of my drive on a wet day, I picked the box up and the contents all fell out of the bottom into a puddle as the cardboard had disintegrated.
Another time one was left under the car! What if the car had been driven off before the card had been seen?
Oh and once a parcel hidden under a bush (no card), it snowed that day and the parcel wasn't discovered until the snow thawed weeks later and a replacement had been received.

My work gave us a surprise at Christmas one year, everyone got theirs but mine never came, found out through others that it was a Christmas Hamper.

The lady who organised for them to come got on to the delivery company to find out where mine was. Apparently it was left down the side of the garage, so i looked nothing there, turn around to find it tucked down the side of the conservatory! It had been there for 2 days, and i didnt spot it before as the way i park on the drive way and get out the car, it was the other side and in darkness. No note was left, nothing, despite the box clearly saying 'needed signature from over 21yr old due to alcohol content'. It was a good job the weather was cold as the hamper contained smoked salmon and duck !!!

Another lady who i worked with wasnt so lucky, she had gone away for Christmas and her hamper had been sat in the deliver warehouse for two weeks- ugh!

I got a circular from Royal Mail a while ago saying they weren't going to put packages in bins anymore due to the no of complaints they'd had. Might be worth contacting RM to complain.

Had one containing electricals left behind a bush in the front garden, in the rain. Next time they're left in stupid places, I'm tempted to deny all knowledge and complain that it is missing from where they claim to have put it. Might teach them to figure out a better system!

Not that I'd condone such dishonesty, but I know someone who complained after a parcel was left in the bin and said the bin had been collected before she'd found the digital camera that was left in it.

Amazon sent her another one.

Funnily, she never had anything left in the bin - ever again!

I was very tempted to tell Amazon that my digital camera hadn't turned up about 7 years ago when the courier had left in on the doorstep without even bothering to ring the doorbell. It was one of those victorian terraces with a 3 foot front garden right next to a bus stop on a main road at school kicking out time. I've no idea how it wasn't stolen.

Back in the day I found that the likelihood that the Amazon courier was going to bother ringing the doorbell was inversely proportional to the value of the package. £120 digital photo frame (this was 2007) - dump it right outside the door of the flat that you had to walk up several flights of stairs to reach (don't bother to knock though), £90 digital camera - dump it on the doorstep (also without bothering to knock), £10 book - ring the doorbell/leave a card with instructions of how to collect the book from the depot 10 miles away.
