To think that if lone parents are switched from income support to jsa

when their youngest child is 5, and with the lack of job opportunities, child care isn't cheap and the fear and threat of sanctions then this will just encourage women to go out and keep getting pregnant every few years to remain entitled to income support.
Please believe me this is not a debate about which is best sahm or working mums. I believe it should be a personal choice. My choice was to work. However I really don't think the government have thought this policy through.

I don't think those on minimum wage are supporting anyone other than themselves. They must pay all of oh about £500 tax per year.

You're right. Black

Spare a thought for the lone parents who HAVE to be fulltime carers to their severely disabled DCs and are disabled themselves, (reason ex fecked off)therefore JSA useless.

Otherwise YANBU

Fully agree with you Rafan. My thoughts are spared and I actually disagree with this policy reason being.... Not everyone's circumstances are the same. Too many grey areas for the government to just say..... Right you're child is 5 off to work, now.
I also hate it when married women are called sahm and lone parents who don't work are "Unemployed"

Not only will those on nmw be paying very little tax, they'll probably be in receipt of in work benefits way in excess of the tax they pay.
In fact a working LP on nmw will receive more in benefits than an unemployed LP.

I'm a single parent and I work. Lucky for me I can earn enough to scrimp by feed, clothe and house dd and I without benefits.

I don't blame anyone who can't work though, assuming they aren't neglectful we all know it's bloody hard work being a parent, when you're on your own and trying to raise your child life is rarely easy fucking daily mail and their stereotyping of single parents
