to have complained to the manager about this sign in Debenham

I was browsing in the home department in Debenhams today when I saw the attached sign. I feel that this is not something that Debenhams should be selling. It trivialises guns and domestic violence and is wholly inappropriate. There was no manager around so I complained to a supervisor who seemed to agree with me and said that she would speak to the manager. I told her that I thought she should have it removed from display. I left my contact details but have yet to hear from them.

It's a stupid sign Confused
It wouldn't bother me enough to complain about it but I'd comment about it if I was with someone.

Please send this pic to everyday sexism so it can enter the world of twitter.

Sexism is like the drip drip drip of Chinese water torture, which drip do you complain about?

Jen99 · 12/08/2014 08:15

I've tweeted it to everyday sexism.
Thanks to those who are in a agreement with me. Imagine the uproar if it had said something like 'no man ever shot a woman for mowing the lawn'
It took me less than 5 minutes to complain about it and well worth my time imo

John Lewis would never sell this...

Apart from a token phone call or email they won't be bothered or do anything about it, although YANBU for complaining if you found it offensive.

ouryve · 12/08/2014 08:57

YANBU.

It's sexist and trivialising violence. How the hell can people say that is inconsequential and not worth a few minutes of someone's time to complain about?

I don't think it's not worth complaining about if the OP found it offensive, but the store not doing anything is the truth. They will contact the OP as a token gesture, but no action will be taken.

If I had a willy I'd piss on it. The capitals wind me up more than its vacuousness.
