As above, promise I'm not the poo troll, yoni massage, penis beaker, cutted up pear, t-Rex etc. have NC for this, oooobviously!

Please help! I have used johnsons extracare wipes (green stripe, aloe willowherb) for probably a decade? For all of my children, and to erm, finish the job, when in the bathroom myself. They have been discontinued, no warning, no stocking up. I had a months worth which has now run out...what should I use for myself and the DCs if they want to use a 'moist toilet product' at the end? Needs to be pretty gentle and kind, I am willing to use washable wipes for the baby still in nappies but not for the rest of us Grin

Your recommendations please, be brave and share, but don't be rude! I have piles sometimes, and all the other baby wipe type products I have tried have left my bottom really sore and red. Same for the DCs. We don't have particularly sensitive skin though Confused

Just realised i should probably buy a few from different shops, rather than have 6 or 7 different types in my shopping trolley later, all in one go. haha

thanks for the advice, you've all been great so far :)

wrt to the piles - mine aren't constant but they appear from time to time, and i hadn't considered any drastic action about them until my littlest was older, have been bf and co sleeping so an op wouldn't have been my first choice of treatment at the moment. But it is certainly something I'd consider if the problem continues, and I'm only about to be 34, so i wouldn't suffer them for the rest of me life, for sure! losing weight, regular exercise and slight diet tweaks would probably help, easier said than done

I love the blue andrex ones, washlets. You can bulk buy which is a bit cheaper and sometimes they're on offer. They also do tiny packs of 12 which are good for handbags.

Wet toilet wipes revolutionised my toiletting experience... Some people have no need for them at all, I definitely do!

DidoTheDodo · 07/08/2014 14:51

Loo roll and water. It holds together long enough to do the job.

somewheresomehow · 07/08/2014 15:53

andrex moist or wilko's ones I tried them because they were on offer for 50p and they are a bit smaller than andrex but didn't sting or anything

Morethanalittlebitconfused · 07/08/2014 15:54

Aldi Mamia sensitive wipes

DayLillie · 07/08/2014 15:58

Toilet roll, with a bit of Aloe vera gel, wheatgerm oil, or baby lotion, if necessary Wink

Applelicious · 07/08/2014 15:59

Just popping on to add if one suffers with rectocele, toilet roll alone is not always sufficient. I haven't had the joy of piles though. Grin

greeneggsandjam · 07/08/2014 16:01

Would you consider just washing with water and maybe dabbing with some v soft toilet paper if needed?

You must be spending a lot of money on these wipes!

BeanyIsPregnant · 07/08/2014 16:03

Hello, I am Beany and I have piles..

I second pp about asda little angels sensitive wipes, super cheap, me and dd both use them giving them an excuse to be in my bathroom

iwantgin · 07/08/2014 16:07

what thatsnotwhatisaid said.

Get it sorted!

in the meantime - I have a pump body lotion on the window sill, and when I had 'ishoos' with my bum I would squirt a little on to a pad of regular loo roll and clean up with that. Nice and cooling too :)

JustAShopGirl · 07/08/2014 16:15

"Get it sorted" - in whose world can you just swan up to a doctors' surgery with a non urgent need and say I want this sorted???

Maybe you can pay to get it sorted - piles , along with varicose veins etc are NOT on the urgent list, until they reach grade 4 or are thrombalised.

over 50% of over 50s suffer some form of piles, mostly we get by with some cream and wet wiping.

WeeLors · 07/08/2014 16:28

Shedding I'm soooo going to try your suggestion

KnackeredMuchly · 07/08/2014 18:05

Try Water Wipes. 99.7% water, with a tiny bit of essential oil like grapefruit. Gentle enough for newborn bums.

TravellingToad · 07/08/2014 18:53

Agree with water wipes. You can buy them by the box load on amazon as well.

DoItTooJulia · 07/08/2014 18:56

Avoid anything with the chemical MI in.. Nasty. Huggies pure has it in sad

wafflyversatile · 07/08/2014 18:57

I've tried wipes. No revelation was had.

BettyFlour · 07/08/2014 19:42

My advice - use whatever is at hand, then use a bidet with just water or water and gentle soap and wash your bum/ kids bum properly. If no bidet, then sit on edge of bath and use shower head to wash your bottom. So it's properly clean. Not just "wiped". Then gently pay dry. If required, use nappy rash cream afterwards.

SoleSource · 07/08/2014 21:03

I use my cat.

Lonecatwithkitten · 07/08/2014 21:23

My dad suffers from a rectal abscess and swears by the Andrex wipes.

SueDoku · 07/08/2014 21:44

I had to see a consultant about my sore, itchy bum some months ago - she was Shock at the mention of using any sort of wipes, as she said that they all have chemicals in them...
She prescribed me this
www.amazon.co.uk/DERMOL-500-EMOLLIENT-MOISTURISER-LOTION/dp/B00L9S8RX4/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1407443933&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=dermol+500

  • and no word of a lie, it has transformed my life... Grin. No more itching, just a squirt on the paper to finish the job and everything flushes away neatly. It lasts for ages and ages - and ages, so is no more expensive than buying wipes. I can't sing its praises loudly enough SmileSmile
3littlefrogs · 07/08/2014 21:48

Lidl wipes are good. They keep them with the toilet rolls.Blush

naty1 · 07/08/2014 21:51

Dont use soap on piles. I think it would dry it out. Same for rectocele.
Dr put me on fybogel but hasnt got rid of piles.

ShyGirl1001 · 07/08/2014 21:53

Kinder by nature wipes are good, you can get them in Sainsburys
