The neighbour looked a bit hmm but did come and liberate the frog. I am still embarrassed that I couldn't sort it out alone. But it might have jumped at me!!
I think there is definitely a difference between seeing a creature in its normal environment and encountering it in a domestic setting where you don't expect it that make it harder to deal with.
I am not afraid of lizards. Nor is DD. When we are out walking somewhere warm if we see one sunning itself on a rock we like to stop and look and try to get close. But on holiday recently she found one in her bedroom and that was very difficult to deal with.
I ended up chasing it around the bedroom with a kitchen utensil and we were both screaming every time it scurried to a different place. DH though we had taken leave of our senses!
