To expect my adult DC to have forgotten about stupid shit I did when they were little?

....especially when I had completely forgotten about it as it was back in 2001?
We were sat having tea tonight when eldest dd was asking me about the pain of giving birth to her 9lb5oz little brother 5 years ago.
"was that the worst pain ever mum?"
"No darling, the worst pain ever was when I had that abscess on my tooth 13 years ago, you and dd2 looked after me"
"Oh yes mum, I remember that - you were constantly smoking antibiotics, me and dd2 knew you were lying - I wonder if dd2 remembers it too?"
At this I nearly choked on my wine! I had forgotten ALL about that! I just remember being in the most horrendous pain and DH a good friend suggested that a bit of skunk for medicinal purposes would be fine. I never forgot the pain experience but completely forgot about taking illicit drugs in front of my beloved DDs. I have always been very vocal to them about my opposition to illicit drug taking for either recreational or 'medicinal' reasons. I just wonder how they kept a straight face all these years.
Let this be a warning to you - just because you have forgotten doesn't mean your DC have.

A few years back I had a wisdom tooth removed and my sadist dentist sewed my gum up so tightly within 4 hours I was so swollen I didn't recognise myself. It was excruciating. I drank an entire bottle of vodka neat and still was in agony.
Fuck it. You do what you gotta.
