Is this fair? I mean, why should preferential treatment be given to this pair when us minions aren't allowed to take our children on holiday in school time? Angry

Jeepers it must be hard being you OP.

I'm knackered just reading your posts. Grin

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 10:42

LetsFace ha ha, err, I'd say the same about yours, only yours are boring! old silver plated cutlery, WTF?! Grin

OP posts:
MyFairyKing · 10/07/2014 10:48

Are you drunk/hungover?

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 10:49

MyFairy, why do you ask? And no, I don't drink!

MyFairyKing · 10/07/2014 11:00

Random insert of "old silver plated cutlery" and being quite over exuberant about celebs set off my brain.

My apologies. Cake ??

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 11:01

MyFairy ha ha, aah I see what you mean! The silver cutlery was an old post from the other member I was replying to sorry!

Ooh, can I have two pieces of cake? Wink

It's usually thought to be bad form on MN to trawl through posters' old threads and bring them up on new threads OP. I was referring to your posts on this thread.

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 11:22

LetsFace no you weren't!! As I'd only posted the OP then about 2 more, ha ha!! Hmm

MyFairyKing · 10/07/2014 11:23

Yes, always more cake, as much cake as you can eat and also Biscuit.

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 11:24

Any Ginger Nuts MyFairy? Could do with a few of them right now! Wink

Seriously, I was. I don't go back and look at what posters have said on other threads beore I post a Grin comment on a thread. Having now done an advanced search, I can see you've not been here long under this NN. I mean this kindly, as you're new - it's not the done thing.

MyFairyKing · 10/07/2014 11:26

I have 2 packets in my cupboard. They are from Lidl but they are very nice. I've just eaten about 20 salted crackers and now have a stomach ache. Hmm

Patticake · 10/07/2014 11:35

Sorry to jump in. I've been on MN for YEARS and regularly name change.

LetsFace- 'I mean this kindly, as you're new - it's not the done thing'.

You remind me of a six year old FFS! Utterly pathetic.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 10/07/2014 11:36

Whatever.
Sighs.
Hides thread.

Patticake · 10/07/2014 11:37

My six year old also says 'whatever'.

BristolRover · 10/07/2014 11:40

anyone who can build a career and earnings on as little talent as she has is not in any way unintelligent. I'd say Colleen is probably exceedingly shrewd and business minded.

DownstairsMixUp · 10/07/2014 11:42

Why do you care? I don't know if they are pricks. I do agree footballers are well overpaid but again, I try not to let it make me so angry I start aibu threads. Kai is only a month or so younger than my DS anyways so even if they do use state schools (doubtful) he won't be going to school till this year.

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 10/07/2014 11:44

Elder Rooney child is more or less the same age as my DD. She doesn't start reception until September so I imagine they are taking advantage of the last opportunity for term time holidays just like we are Hmm

ScouseBird8364 · 10/07/2014 11:44

Patti, I'm so relieved you said your 6 year old says 'whatever' as it seems to be my 6 yo's new word right now and I was beginning to worry that my usually smart, polite boy was developing this little crazy attitude! Wink Must be their age Smile

Yes, surely everyone with dcs starting school in September are going away in June/start of July making the most of the last non-school holiday holiday? So they are just being like everyone else with dcs that age...

grumpy123 · 19/07/2014 09:52

I think you miss the point. It's against the law to take your children out of school. You might as well send them into a supermarket and tell them to steal whatever they like as it will save you ££££s on your shopping.
Also, if you think they don't suffer by not being at school for two weeks, then you are wrong.
Thirdly, you would probably be one of the first ones to complain if your child's school dropped all the rules, and let the children run riot. Rules are there for the benefit of the child. A school has a duty of care and so should you.

Viviennemary · 19/07/2014 09:58

I thought the youngest Rooney child was 4. So he probably even hasn't started school yet.

mumofthemonsters808 · 19/07/2014 10:07

The new rules don't seem to have stopped anyone taking their children out of school, parents must just take the holiday and pay the fine. The cases I have heard of at DD's school, are not just the odd day neither, six weeks in Florida at the start of September, three weeks in Egypt in June. I'm not sure how the parent's are getting away with this.

WaitMonkey · 19/07/2014 10:09

Why has this thread been bumped again ?? Hmm Oldest Rooney boy isn't 5 until November. He isn't at school yet.
