Is this fair? I mean, why should preferential treatment be given to this pair when us minions aren't allowed to take our children on holiday in school time? Angry

No, here I am, phone battery died grrr! No, don't feel silly at all ha ha, just can't stand the pair of pricks tbh!

But now realise I was BU as I didn't realise the kids, or the older kid, wasn't of school age Wink

Point taken guys, guess that's why there is a 'question' within AIBU Wink

I'm fed up of reading about them taking the dc out of school for holidays. The eldest child isn't 5 until November, so not required to attend school yet so they can taje whatever holidays they want.

MyFairyKing · 09/07/2014 22:52

Bet they don't like you either! Wink

WaitMonkey · 09/07/2014 22:52

pair of pricks. Nice. Hmm

teeththief · 09/07/2014 22:53

Why exactly are they are 'pair of pricks'? Jealous much?

teeththief · 09/07/2014 22:54

Turn that in to English I've had wine

NorwaySpruce · 09/07/2014 22:55

Let me guess OP, you went to school with one of them, and are eaten up with jealousy?

sanfairyanne · 09/07/2014 22:59

private school

they can do what they want

its the new britain, one rule for the plebs, another for the rich

ScouseBird8364 · 09/07/2014 22:59

Jealous - No, School - No...

I despise footballers, and also despise unintelligent knobs who are labelled 'fashion designers' (when there are people who've worked their arses off in Uni to actually BE a fashion designer, not have someone do it for you then take the credit for it)

Just my opinion, I'm sure there are plenty of (useless) 'celebs' that half of you don't like

OP posts:
WaitMonkey · 09/07/2014 23:00

It isn't private school. They are too young for school.

Birdsgottafly · 09/07/2014 23:01

""Let me guess OP, you went to school with one of them, and are eaten up with jealousy?""

In all fairness, I know the Rooneys (parents/cousins) it isn't jealousy that promotes comments such as the OP's.

The OP has accepted she is BU.

Floisme · 09/07/2014 23:07

Dammit op, please don't go and spoil it - I'll be agreeing with you in a minute Grin

TucsonGirl · 09/07/2014 23:12

"private school

You can do what you want as well. I'd imagine it's cheaper to pay the fine than it is to pay school fees. And it's not like you have to send your children to school anyway. This whole thread is ridiculous.

TucsonGirl · 09/07/2014 23:12

Why do you despise footballers, OP?

Eminybob · 09/07/2014 23:53

Oh so it is jealousy. Re the fashion designer thing. Why don't you just call a spade a spade.

And why hate footballers? Jealous again because they earn more money than you?

Pair of pricks is a bit harsh unless you know them personally and therefore know this is true. They seem like nice enough people to me, they're not going out clubbing seals are they?

Hailtotheking · 09/07/2014 23:56

I hate football
I don't like WR
but this is a pile of shite

Bridge

JCDenton · 10/07/2014 07:58

Why do you hate footballers so much? I'm related to one and know another and they're both good people. Not exactly Premiership level but good enough to earn money.

ThatSmellsLikePoo · 10/07/2014 08:13

Of all the things out there worth hating - y'know like famine, war crimes against women, disease and so on I'm absolutely boggled to find anyone has space in their consciousness for the Rooneys. How very very odd.

Rosa · 10/07/2014 08:15

Who?

PosingInManilla · 10/07/2014 08:47

Glad OP has said she was BU.

I never get the assumption that somehow a footballer just happens to be paid shit loads. Nearly every single professional footballer will have dedicated their life to this aim from about 5 or 6 years old, giving up weekends, evenings, and typical teenage stuff. By the time they retire in their mid thirties they will have spent almost 30 years immersed in their sport. I never understand why people will get pissed off about a footballer's wages but not a film star or pop star? And they only get paid so much because of market forces driven by consumers - it's not like they're taking the money from a school budget or something.

Channel your jealousy elsewhere.

notapizzaeater · 10/07/2014 08:53

The footballer I know actually gets permission to take the kids away out of term time as he is in training during the 6 weeks holidays for the next season.

It's not the footballers fault they earn so much

TheSpottedZebra · 10/07/2014 08:56

'Unintelligent knobs' ?

OK, am sure that Wayne is not going to be appearing on Newsnight anytime soon, but not sure why you're saying Colleen is unintelligent?

What are you basing that on? Certainly, when she came to 'fame', it was widely reported that she was doing very well at school etc etc.

Hulababy · 10/07/2014 09:05

I reckon being able to go and see a parent play in a World Cup is probably fairly exceptional reasons tbh. It's not the norm after all.

However don't think either child is of school age so not applicable.

If they are/were they may well be at an independent school which will have its own rules. Round here they haven't finished yet - tomorrow - but they are a little more relaxed about time off ime, esp at primary age.

"which are considerably cheaper than the fines you're charged by travel agents for taking your children away in school holidays"

Please tell me you don't seriously believe this?! Grin The prices you pay for school holidays are the prices; they are dropped in term time.
