I get horrendous pms and it's just kicked in today Sad, feeling really blue, sluggish and crampy. The ONLY thing I'm looking forward to is a little munch and the telly this evening when DD has gone to bed!

I know exercise and healthy diet would probably be much more beneficial for my mood and pain but please, share with me your favourite comfort foods for this time of month!

OP posts:

Cheese sandwich with just baked bread and loads of butter. Bacon sarnie - same method! Eggy bread but using fruit loaf instead of normal bread. Egg and soldiers. Roast with lots of stuffing and crispy roast potatoes.

Macaroni cheese, jacket spud done in the oven with lots of butter cheese, beans and coleslaw ( yes coleslaw it works), tea and buttery toast, tea and cake, chocolate shortbread (co-OP ones are the best I've ever tasted)

TheSpottedZebra · 09/07/2014 14:42

No. Piss off. I am not bloody sharing with anyone.

(tiger bread and butter, lots of. Followed by all the biscuits, and an ice cream chaser. Yes, I do like carbs)

Have to be really good sausages tho. I put a big splodge of whole grain mustard in the mash too.

These are my "healthyish" comfort foods:

~ 2 potato waffles, small tin of baked beans and 2 grated mini babybel light cheeses
~ Bowl of homemade chicken soup
~ Egg, chip and pepper bake - slice 3 whole peppers (red, orange and yellow) and slice a couple of baking potatoes (skin on) in a pan and bake in oven for 45 mins. When it's nearly done, crack a couple of eggs in the pan and continue to bake in the oven for a few mins.
~ Grilled halloumi, slices avocado and sliced tomato with a drizzle of french dressing

These are my less healthy ones:

~ Pringles (any flavour) with 3 tubs of guacamole, sour cream and chive dip and salsa dip.
~ Mashed potato topped with baked beans and sprinkled with loadsss of cheese - ensure you put in microwave to melt aforementioned cheese.
~ Fish fingers, alphabites and alphabetti spaghetti sprinkled with loadsss of cheese

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 09/07/2014 16:01

My ultimate comfort food is roasted sweet potato wedges. I just cut up the potatoes, drizzle on some olive oil, season with herb salt and pop in the oven.

Cheers me up every time!
