I've been functioning perfectly well with half a wisdom tooth since before Christmas. I'm figuring it's half more than some people ever get so it's fine. and I'm just ignoring the gaping hole and jagged edges.

Disclaimer: I may not be the best person the take advice from as I'd sooner have another EMCS than go to the dentist.

Yes my back molar has been as yours was, but another large chunk has gone. There is now just a bit of filling clingy hopefully to the remaining pice of tooth.

No wisdom teeth impacted so they sedated me and took them out.

I absolutely cannot have a needle in my mouth.

I can't. (Literally sometimes as I faint. And apparently they aren't meant to stuff to you when you are unconscious)

I did the same, ignored my broken molar.

I now have a crown. The rest of the molar eventually shattered as it had no support. The crown was eye wateringly expensive, and the dentist told me I would probably have got away with a big filling, if I'd had it dealt with earlier :(

But the BEST time to put the needle in would be when I'm unconscious from fainting. But they won't because I'm not consenting to have it done if if passed out. Stoopid medical laws.

If you don't get it sorted you will end up with a crown.

And they are considerably less pleasant that a filling. Get your arse in gear, ring the dentist, and GO. FFS I'll come with you if I have to.

go and ask to be refereed to the sedation clinic they give you the injection via the cannula in the arm. You have to take someone with you though

HAve it pulled out. In fact, tie string round what's left of it and pull it out yourself. You won't notice if it's a back tooth, although chewing might be a little harder and you'll have to watch out for dry socket and so on.

There's not enough left to fill by the sound of it - so it will be a root canal and crown anyway - but if you leave it as it is you stand a good chance of getting an abscess which will bloody HURT like BLAZES and make you want to bang your head off the nearest hard object and you'll STILL need to go and have a root canal and so on (or have the tooth pulled out).

I lost one of my wisdom teeth after having DS1 - it just crumbled in my mouth, I only had 1/3 of the surface tooth left!
Had it pulled out. No dry socket, no problem, just one less tooth to cause me bother in the future.

Get hypnotised by someone who's good at it before you go to the dentist, then they'll be able to do whatever's necessary. And sign a consent first before you pass out so that they can still carry on

But the dentist always hurts and the back teeth are fucked due to dastardly dentist incompetence in the first place. As are the two massive scars in my mouth

What is a crown anyway? It doesn't sound good.
