My child is going on a 3 day school trip to a European country.

Today I find out that the timing of the outward bound flight means that we have to get her to school for boarding the coach by 2.15am.

Aibu to think this is nuts?

Yes, sorry, I appreciate that we weren't a single parent family. If my parents moaned, they never said anything to me. I would do it for my children although I'd likely moan about it as well. I am in the fortunate position of living directly across the road from where my children will go to secondary school, so it will be a stagger across the road, drop off child and stagger back across the road straight into bed. My Dh is away a lot, so if he wasn't there, I would probably leave the other children in bed on the basis I wouldn't be away very long and could make sure the house wasn't
Burning down by looking back across the road.

If that wasn't the case, however, it would still sort something out so they could go
