To think that Peppa Pig is the work of the devil?

Before having kids I assumed that it was a harmless cartoon.

Boy, was I wrong

If it's not bad enough that they look like poorly drawn male genitalia, it's the simple fact that Peppa is a narcissistic psychopath. She bullies her brother and her friends, and has a greatly overinflated sense of her own importance and abilities which is never challenged.

She is rude; never says please or thank you, mocks poor daddy pig and bullies him over his weight. She has lied and broken things - there are NEVER consequences to her poor behaviour. They just all roll about laughing. Lying is not funny!!!

George just needs to be made into sausages.

Mummy stays home and looks after the house whilst daddy works - do me a favour!!!

I don't want my child to think it's ok to have no manners, to be a liar, and to never have any consequences for poor behaviour.

AIBU to ban Peppa Pig from this house??

I love the fathers day episode of Ben and Holly. And big bad barry.

JerseySpud · 21/06/2014 12:22

Try Ben and Holly instead. More adult humour!

'They made the Queen disappear'

'And all they left are her panties!"

It always makes me laugh when parents flap in horror about the awful influence that Peppa, Horrid Henry, Tracy Beaker et al have on their precious little darlings. They seem to ignore the fact that TV characters are based on recognisable and fairly global childhood behaviours (it is what makes them so popular), which their children will probably exhibit at some stage even if they have never even seen a TV.

Laugh away!

my second favourite thing apart from ranting are people with no sense of humour

Peppa is ace! Along with Ben & Holly its the only children's TV that I don't find insufferable. It addresses lots of typical situations involving small DC, Peppa's family are kind and hard-working, yes she's a bossy big sister, but most are. It's also quite satirical, which I appreciate, as so much children's TV is overly worthy, or just tedious (yes CBeebies, I'm looking at YOU!). At least PP and B&H is funny and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Peppa pig fucks me right off when Madam Gazelle calls the doctor because one of her class has a cough. And he comes straight out. Loco parentis or not, that's taking it a bit far. And what a waste of resources.

APotNoodleandaTommy · 21/06/2014 15:50

Vile programme

TheRealAmandaClarke · 21/06/2014 16:49

I love how they're rude about daddy pigs fat tummy.

The "peace and harmony" song in the international bickering episode was great. I often sing it at work Grin
