War Horse. Sheesh. I am crying just typing it. Quite happy to die never having seen it.

Blub

Nessalina · 15/06/2014 19:30

Oh god, yes to Matthew dying in Anne of Green Gables, that's a killer every time!

The song in Toy Story 2 about Jessie's owner growing up and getting rid of her - 'When She Loved Me'. I have it on my iPod and I don't even need the visuals to well up, it's just so sad and beautifully sung.

The end of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (the book not film) when Reepicheep goes off in his coracle to see the edge of the world... Oh and the end of The Last Battle when the children are reunited with old friends.

The bit in The Neverending Story when Atreyu's horse sinks in the swamp - Artaaaaaaax!! Sad

God, I'm a wimp Blush

londonrach · 15/06/2014 19:31

My girl when she comes down the stairs and sees her childhood friend in the coffin with no glasses on and asks him to play with her. I start crying from the moment the screen starts......

CannyBagOfTudor · 15/06/2014 19:32

"to my brother, the richest man in town"

Uptheairymountain · 15/06/2014 19:32

Bloody children's books.

Blueberry Girl, Peepo, The Baby's Catalogue, Ten Little Fingers and The Snail And The Whale are the main culprits I think.

wipes the existence of Goodbye Mog from memory

CannyBagOfTudor · 15/06/2014 19:33

"All things Bright and Beautiful"

Played at the funeral of a beautiful 6 year old with stunning red hair.

Hissy · 15/06/2014 19:34

No idea why, but not once have I ever heard My Way by Frank Sinatra without howling.

In my cot as a baby until now. Over 45 years of incontrollable tears.

Hissy · 15/06/2014 19:34

Uncontrollable. Sorry! :)

CannyBagOfTudor · 15/06/2014 19:35

yy to War Horse exitpursuedby -saw it at the theatre and was like a wrung out rag by the end of it.

Pleasenomorepeppa · 15/06/2014 19:38

Streets of London by Ralph Mctell. Every sodding time. Ive sobbed at it since I was a little girl. My Dad used to be a folk singer & he takes great pleasure in playing it on his guitar when I'm around!
Also the Littlest Hobo theme tune. I'm a wreck about 2 bars in.
There was a cartoon called The Little Convict from the early 80's, as a child I would watch it in tears, but I couldn't not watch it.
There are loads of films that set me off.
Sarah's Key
Schindlers List
Little Man Tate
Saving Mr Banks.
Since having Children I apparently get very emotional all of the time Grin.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 15/06/2014 19:40

Ah yes, littlest hobo music

whojamaflip · 15/06/2014 19:40

Butterfly kisses by Bob Carlise

Can't even think about it without dissolving Hmm

thebodylovesspring · 15/06/2014 19:41

Yes toy story all those films are bloody tear jerkers.

OP posts:
CeliaFate · 15/06/2014 19:42

The film "Overboard" when her rich husband comes back to get her and she remembers who she is. They drive off in a limo with all the little kids chasing it shouting "Mommy!"

Yes to "Slipping through my fingers."

Any theatrical performance - ballet, musical, the kids' school plays.

MrsPear · 15/06/2014 19:43

It's funny but the only film that has made me a sobbing wreak is Beaches - never again.

Also the bloody song from the same film was played at the funeral of my mum's close friend who died suddenly and expected far too young. I just about held it in as my poor mum sobbed quietly - thank god I took the day off work. Even now I cry as it is so hard to see your mum in that kind of pain.

Pleasenomorepeppa · 15/06/2014 19:44

Also Bring him home, sung by Colm Wilkinson or Alfie Boe & One Day More & Do you Hear The People Sing from Les Mis.
My friend's Dad died when we were in our early teens & the last verse of Do You Hear The People Sing was played at his funeral. Even my Dad got emotional.

Brodicea · 15/06/2014 19:46

Mine is the end of Watership Down when they play Bright Eyes…. I tear up just thinking about it.

Filimou · 15/06/2014 19:47

Offenbach from 'life is beautiful', the end of 'Home Alone', 'My Girl....where are his glasses??'
Away in a manger and silent night remind me of my dad helping me practice for the carol service.
The Big Bang theory when Sheldon recalls how he asked Santa for his grandfather back Sad Sad Sad

Brodicea · 15/06/2014 19:47

Also almost any rendition of Suo Gan!

Lonecatwithkitten · 15/06/2014 19:47

When Marley dies in Marley and me.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 15/06/2014 19:47

Yes to every single baby in One born every minute.

Kate Bush and Peter Gabriels, 'Don't give up.'

Tears in Heaven - I had to ask the zumba teacher to switch it off at 'cool down'.

'He ain't heavy, he's my brother.'

Terms of Endearment, near the end, weep.

Champ!

Most Michael Morpurgo books!

The news. :(
