The cat is a bastard. There is no cure. He just is.

He sleeps all day (when not demanding good - usually hourly). Then at night he likes to go out.

And in.

And out.

And in.

And out.

And in.

And out.

'Oh get a cat flap' I hear you cry, but the door is unsuitable and even if there was one the kitchen door is closed at night and Bastard Cat has an irrational hatred of closed doors.

So...

He's out and decides he needs to come in. So he shouts and wails loudly until someone gets up and opens a door or window.

Repeat every 2 hours.

And reverse.

I think that if the bathroom window is left open he can come and go and all I need to do is wake up enough to open the bedroom door. Then Bastard Cat can come in and snuggle my head.

H thinks that is just inviting him to shout at the bedroom door. And it should be closed.

But then I have to wake up enough to trek downstairs to let him in.

Please decide who is right.

Thanks

Have you called for him? Could he be eating elsewhere?

He needs retraining to come in at a certain time and stay in. My cat comes in around 9pm each night. He may whinge about going out but a firm "no" and he settles down. Oops it's gone 10pm. I'd better go and let him in. He will be on the doorstep waiting.

cindydog · 15/06/2014 22:38

keep him awake all day by throwing water at him, screaming at him etc ,he should be too tired to roam all night.

deakymom · 15/06/2014 22:44

leave bathroom window open use liberal amounts of feliway around your door so he just falls asleep x

AtYourCervix · 16/06/2014 06:23

Bugger is missing. Damn.

Does BC use Mumsnet ? Does he know your username ? Could he be following this thread and is worrying you on purpose ?
Ps. I do hope BC is back.

TitsCrossed · 16/06/2014 10:19

Any sign AYC? dh accidentally locked one of ours in the shed overnight. Titcat was not amused. Hoe he's back soon.

Pennies · 16/06/2014 10:41

He's having a strop because your thread was linked to the Catsnet forum.

stealthsquiggle · 16/06/2014 11:07

I hope BC has strolled in to accept your abject apologies for contemplating interfering with his routine. Is this a mass walkout? BoyCat is very stressed this morning because his sister (aka touchmeandyoudiecat ) seems to have disappeared Hmm. My stress levels on the subject are not being helped by the fact that DS, who is touchmeandyoudiecat's chosen person, left on a school trip early this morning and I really don't want to have to tell him when he gets home on Wednesday that we have lost his cat HmmHmm.

therewearethen · 16/06/2014 12:03

Eyes sadoldgit suspiciously do we have shared ownership of annoying twat cat and his younger sister annoying stupid cat?? Stupid cat is always wet when it rains because it's too stupid to hide somewhere dry (they have a shelter) and always comes in like a drowned rat dripping all over my floors Angry if twat cat gets wet he lets himself in, follows you around until you stand still long enough for him to shake himself off and dry himself on your legs. Utter bastards the pair of them!

AtYourCervix · 16/06/2014 17:39

Bastard Cat has sadly got himself run over. I am very sad.

wannabeveggie · 16/06/2014 18:06

Feed BC last thing at night - he has to come in if he wants dinner .
Shut him in the kitchen or utility with small litter tray.
Shut the door.
Go to bed.

SadOldGit · 16/06/2014 18:07
