I get this impression and have no idea why - is this my imagination or is this the case?

Where are you originally from?

I am thoroughly English.

Offs footering not fostering.

SquirrelledAway · 15/06/2014 09:49

Drink sorry for a late reply, I fell asleep. Phone reception is patchy great, you'll have to stand on a big rock on one leg waving your phone in the air no problems, especially if you're on Vodafone you have no hope on 3, EE or O2. Grin

SquirrelledAway · 15/06/2014 10:04

And on the subject of rowies, being an incomer to Aberdeen and not versed in its culinary delights I had my first one ever in the matty after having DS2, because let's face it, after spending 24 hours in labour what you really, really want is a big slab of lard, sugar and salt.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 15/06/2014 10:25

Hmm Great. Im on O2.

So what map should I buy?! Confused

Theonlyoneiknow · 15/06/2014 10:36

Aberdonian here

SquirrelledAway · 15/06/2014 10:54

I'm on O2 as well. I get great reception at the top of the neighbour's steps though.

Best map - this one.

EverythingIsAwesome · 15/06/2014 11:14

Scottish!

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/06/2014 11:17

Where ye headed for Drink?

I struggle for a signal at work, fine for the walk to the bus stop then get arse all again all the way home. There are two tiny pockets of signal in 20 shiting miles. Even in the house I struggle until I'm sat on one corner of the bed.

It pisses me off no end. I'm paying exactly the same for my contract and every time I pop into the shop to girn about it, they whean out some guff that it's earmarked for improvements but nothing ever happens.

Best start training your carrier pigeon now, Drink. Tempt it with a bit of rowie. Coooooooo. Grin

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/06/2014 13:47

A question for the Aberdonians. There was another rubbish jacket shop. It had a glittery/spangly shop sign, almost like a flattened disco ball. They had satellite sales in pubs and hotels in the shire. Early Eighties.

Any takers? You'd have to be a hard core toonser to remember it. Sunday challenge.

YouAreCompletelyRight · 15/06/2014 14:07

Where was the shop?

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/06/2014 14:20

If memory serves it was quite near to the old Co-op , which is now John Lewis/George Street area. Grin

Good god. I've just scared myself. Thirty odd years ago.

SquirrelledAway · 15/06/2014 14:24

Way before my time, but this Pistonheads thread might bring back a few memories.

YouAreCompletelyRight · 15/06/2014 14:29

Remember when John Lewis used to be Norco House?

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/06/2014 14:37

Norco Hoose. The mecca for mithers. Grin Are ye stuck wi the jacket shop?

MaryMungoAndMidgies · 15/06/2014 14:39

Oh that thread was a blast fae the past, Squirrelled Thanks

INeedSomeHelp · 15/06/2014 14:40

Scottish here too - born in Orkney and have slowly moved South ever since! Most of growing up was done in Inverness/Black Isle but moved to Edinburgh 20+ years ago. Very sad that I have mainly lost my inverness accent although people say they can still hear it in certain words.
Went on holiday to Kintyre every year with the family. Was great on 1970s roads for a child who suffered terribly from travel sickness!

CanadianJohn · 15/06/2014 14:50

I'm not Scottish, but I got drunk one time and fell down. Does that make me a honourary Scotsman? Wink
