Just that really. It's like a big, noisy party, they have a small gazebo thing set up so they are going to likely do this for other matches and they are drinking and literally roaring at the tv which is turned up pretty loud. It's a city street, terraced houses and this is so loud. Match is over and now they are settling in to drink. It's just the first night of the bloody World Cup and if this goes on for the whole month I am going to go round and kill them all - AIBU?

I am surrounded by selfish, noisy neighbours. None of whom have to get up for work like we do. Last night there were two houses that had their tv outside till the very early hours. Tonight it will be hell on earth. Neighbours at back have been 'preparing' their garden for tonight since 6am this morning.
I've had to resort to listening to radio 4 with earphones on, otherwise I'd end up killing somebody. Praying it starts to piss down sometime soon.

I am honestly stunned that anyone can think it is acceptable to have a TV outside late at night. Would definitely be pissed off at that, even at the weekend. If you want to watch football, drink and make a lot of noise then go to a pub with a big-screen.
thankfully I am in Scotland so hopefully will not be bothered by this.

Mrsjayy · 14/06/2014 08:37

Came home last night to silence they were heading to the pub just as I was getting in,,I know people are entitled to watch the football but do they need to be sp noisy about it,

Mrsjayy · 14/06/2014 08:39

Im in scotland too neighbour is footie fan , pub I was in had it on last night but turned down

If you think that's bad, try being admitted to hospital for 3 weeks during the world cup. I had my son in 2002, and due to a complication, had to spend the three weeks before he was born, on an antenatal ward. Cu e fat middle aged bald men in football strip (visitors) waddling in, a steady stream day and evening, and putting on the ward TV. Always football. They'd never ask if anyone minded, even though they were in a ward full of women, many of whom (well all, actually) didn't want to watch it... And looked like they'd be abusive if the patients switched it off - so I drove the nurses mad, calling them and getting them to firmly switch it off for me. It was a nightmare. The others just rolled their eyes and would suffer it. Ten minutes later another chubby fan would waddle in and switch the TV back on and I'd get a nurse again...

Said baby is now a football mad 12 year old. Ack. I was really lucky with my odler kids - they all loathe football. But my two youngest love it.

I think I would be purchasing a very powerful garden sprinkler and placing it strategically.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/06/2014 15:54

After a sleepless night due to a rather fab storm last night and before that there was some very noisy people outside I'm dreading tonight.
I think Monday morning could be full of very grumpy sleep deprived people!

Andrewofgg · 14/06/2014 17:57

Let's hope that it pisses down tonight. Thunder too. That might keep me awake as well but it would be worth it to think of all the selfish arseholes having their parties FUBARed!

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/06/2014 18:17

If my next door neighbours were this bad I'd probably find my cheesiest cd (Cliff, Barry Manilow or similar) open all the windows and play it loudly. Or maybe some Bach or Mozart?

It's those in the next street who are bad this way. Full of chavs.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 14/06/2014 18:18

Actually I don't own any of those cds so would have to buy them Confused Been on wine

MintyChops · 14/06/2014 18:41

Oh bollocks, one of the other houses has lots of bunting up (Italian colours) so there will be more than one nest of them. Am also praying for massive thunderstorm and possibly a freak lightening strike ( would lightening be attracted to a tv? Please please say yes)....

Frigging, we also have a lane at the back of our house! it is closed at either end and you need a key to access it. If I need wine to help with the noise I will go to Lilac.......

Joffrey, that sounds ghastly....

No key for ours but no one would bother hanging around there. It really is a small world Minty. Had more to the point are our horrid neighbours clones?

MintyChops · 14/06/2014 18:59

Maybe there are just a lot of inconsiderate, horrible neighbours out there....

My neighbours are now watching football outside. great joy.

MintyChops · 14/06/2014 20:30

Oh hard luck pax. Our second lot with the Italian bunting started drinking an hour ago. Kick off is at 11. They are all young lads in their 20's and they are going to be wasted and noisy by then..... Haven't seen an actual tv in the garden but they have open double doors from the kitchen so may set it up there which will be just as noisy.

I was lulled into a false sense of security with me as they've been out all day. Sadly they've all just rocked up plus mates with more beer crates than I can count. Cars everywhere.

Theres rain in the air but dont think it'll materialise. Could be a long night even more so if England are shite.

samsam123 · 14/06/2014 20:34

would really really annoy me my neighbours sat outside drinking with music on all last summer until gone midnight virtually every night I wanted to kill them. They were renting and even though we complained to lettings agents loads of times they were still allowed to renew their contract . I am now moving. Bastards so inconsiderate.
