Dd will be 13 this year. She doesn't want a fuss, no party, no special cake etc. This very much goes against the grain for me but it is what she wants, and it's her day.

I'd very much like to pull a few fabulous presents out but am drawing a blank. So, your mission (should you choose to accept it) is to give amazing gift ideas!

Dd has some health issues so can't do much physically (so skydiving vouchers are out), she isn't interested in clothes or make up (so no pampering sessions). She has every gadget imaginable, isn't fussed about music or apps, there are no toys that she likes. She reads a lot but has just bought the A Song of Ice and Fire series so is well stocked. We can't fit any more pets in the house.

I am completely out of ideas and am hoping you fab MumsNetters can help.

fauxfox I love that idea so much!!

If she likes animals (guessing, from your mention of house full of pets) is there a zoo or animal park somewhere that lets you do a behind the scenes experience, or day being a zoo keeper or something?

Failing that, adopt an animal for her somewhere, so she gets updates on its wellbeing etc?

I think an item of jewellery would be nice, to mark her journey into adolescence. I know she isn't a girly girl, but it doesn't have to be "girly" :)

xalyssx · 02/06/2014 21:19

I'd recommend the game Tsuro, it's a really fun game and it has dragons in.

Is she interested in steampunk?

borninastorm · 02/06/2014 21:19

What about making her a Game of Thrones costume and a promise to buy her tickets to MCM Expo Comic Con at Excel London in October?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 02/06/2014 21:21

Completely different from all the dragon/GoT suggestoins, but have you thought of [[http://cableandcotton.co.uk/ Cable and Cotton lights, I've got a couple, I think they'd look fab in a teenager's room. Massive amount of choice in colourways.

appealtakingovermylife · 02/06/2014 21:21

How about you make dd a picture of her life, 13 pictures, cheap clip art frame and could say something like "from tiny to teen and everything inbetween " would be made with love and totally unique.

PixieofCatan · 02/06/2014 21:49

Oo, cable and cotton lights, you can get your own colour scheme made up of them too!

Katrose · 02/06/2014 22:09

Everyone's been suggesting 'things to do' and activities. Why not give her a budget for redecorating her room? So money for new furniture, paint, duvet, fairy lights etc? You say your daughter doesn't really spend money and is ill often so it seems like she must spend time there!

Backtobedlam · 02/06/2014 22:17

Have a look on Etsy if you're thinking of a dragon theme. Searching game of thrones brings up jewellery, costumes, framed pictures-lots of unique stuff.

PleaseJustShootMeNow · 02/06/2014 22:32

How about getting dressed up GoT style and going to something like this:

WillYouDoTheFandango · 02/06/2014 23:48

If you're going to go the dragon route you need to buy the GoT pop vinyl dragon. I want a little Tyrion, they're very cool.
