AIBU to think that this is a weird thing for my 17 year old ds to say!

OK. My teenage kids have got some friends round tonight for a BBQ and a couple of drinks.

I just went upstairs to my bedroom and as I was in my bedroom, my 17 year old ds who had just been to the loo, walked across the landing towards his bedroom saying "right, it's my turn to sit on you bitch" to his gay friend who was in there.

I am flabbagasted! What does it mean?

He knew I heard him and just laughed it off and said I'm just joking, he didn't look at all embarresed!

Someone shed some light please!

Yes CorusKate - they were playing CoD.

I'd say it's just banter!

I learnt the word 'hench' a while ago, as I'm down with the kids, innit? Grin

I'm an English teacher, and they teach me some fabulous words! But they do explain that I'm not to use them, as I'm too old Sad

2Retts · 01/06/2014 23:49

We have the full gamut of teen/YA vernacular in our house, especially at weekends when the house is full.

Today we had to liberate some bees which had found their way into the kitchen; apparently the last two were 'totally hench', (they were huge).

NotSuchASmug, I wouldn't give it too much heed; I've heard far worse and much more colourful on the rugby pitch and in the clubhouse afterwards. It is indeed, just banter IMHO

PrincessBabyCat · 02/06/2014 00:03

Oh! LOL If it was xbox, they were probably T-bagging each other's dead bodies. You can squat over dead bodies in some games and put your crotch on the dead guys head. It's to rub salt in the wound that they died. :)

PrincessBabyCat · 02/06/2014 00:05

Xpost with CorusKate

2Retts · 02/06/2014 00:09

PrincessBabyCat, a friend of mine learned what tea-bagging was from his 15 year old DS; he was horrified Grin

Idontseeanyicegiants · 02/06/2014 09:59

I'm sure we didn't speak an entirely different language when we were teens, the odd word maybe but not whole sentences! DS has started to roll his eyes at me when I ask him to put what he just said into decent English Grin
And I can never keep up with whether 'sick' is good or bad these days..
God I'm old.

gamerchick · 02/06/2014 10:09

I must admit the best xbox live insult I've heard was a disgruntled squeaky voice saying ' here man I teabagged your nanna man' the things they come out with these days, I can't keep up anymore.

odyssey2001 · 02/06/2014 10:09

So, as I see it, they were playing CoD, and before your son went to the toilet, his friend "killed" your son and celebrated by tea-bagging him. Your son then wanted to seek his murderous, ball-plunging revenge. Seems perfectly normal to me!

gamerchick · 02/06/2014 10:15

Yep that makes sense.. I was wondering if they were playing a game.

Angelto5 · 02/06/2014 10:30

Sounds just like my teenage ds when he's on his Xbox. We also use the word hench a lot!!!we don't use yolo (you only live once) much though!!!Grin

Cocolepew · 02/06/2014 10:33

I've noticed a lot more males using the word bitch since Breaking Bad became popular.

My son just came out as gay.

That would explain the comment! I think I knew really, deep in my heart. Still a bit shocked but hey ho, nothing I can do about it, each to their own and all that.

I teach 17 year olds. It sounds normal to me. Don´t worry.

OnlyWantsOne · 22/08/2014 18:06

Oh it's really good that he can talk to you.

I still wouldn't assume that the comment wasn't about COD though!

Has he told you because he's going out with his friend ? How do you feel about it all. ?

unrealhousewife · 22/08/2014 18:11

Wow. Congratulations? But teabagging is purely a cod term i hope in this case?

Aeroflotgirl · 22/08/2014 18:11

Gosh op lighten up, sounds like typical teenage talk

WorraLiberty · 22/08/2014 18:11

Aww it's great that he can talk to you so honestly OP Thanks

Bless his heart, really brave and must have nerve wracking for him.
I bet you are all over the place, but proud that he knows himself and is comfortable to talk to you. I hope you have some one you can drink wine with tonight and talk all your feelings through with x

DurhamDurham · 22/08/2014 18:14

I have teenagers and they come out with all kinds of strange things to their friends. It doesn't mean anything, it's just 'banter'. They have I jokes that we cannot hope to understand, nor would we want to Grin
