Going to Disney world in a few months and have a Frozen obsessed 3 year old.

Meeting Anna & Elsa has a 5-7 hour wait!! Unless we pay £68 to book a room in a Disney resort (we got a villa) for one night so we can get a fastpass!

I'm just about to do it... But our friend says its crazy and just don't see them.

WWYD??

Mine know all about Disneyland.

They also know they are not going.

I told them to phone childline.

JodieGarberJacob · 31/05/2014 17:37

Every time someone pays Disney are justified in charging it. The more people who pay, the longer the wait for other people. Hate fast-track payments. They should throw at least 2 free ones in with your entrance ticket. Complete bloody rip off. The characters should just be walking around freely. Harrumph.....

Sirzy · 31/05/2014 18:00

£68 to see someone in a costume? I must be mean mummy because even if I could afford it I wouldn't consider paying that!

Billygoats · 31/05/2014 18:02

If you can afford it do it. If you will be struggling for money after then don't. Most people would spend money if they could afford it on luxuries.

TalkinPeace · 31/05/2014 18:05

Wow, Disney are good at the marketing shite

PossumPoo · 31/05/2014 18:08

Agree with your friends! No way I'd pay that or wait that amount of time.

Backtobedlam · 31/05/2014 18:08

Id pay it personally-yes it doesn't feel 'right' yes I think Disney rip us off totally from merchandise to the theme parks, but I'd still pay.

curiousgeorgie · 31/05/2014 19:02

I'm doing it... She's desperate to see them! Grin

Couldn't you just buy a costume and get your friends to dress up?

3 year olds are happy collecting shells on a beach or climbing trees, no need for Disney land in my opinion and certainly no need for extra money to see pretend people.

drLu · 31/05/2014 19:10

It's only £68 and I presume there are other benefits to the fast pass? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

FaFoutis · 31/05/2014 19:10

If we were going I'd pay. My dd would be overjoyed so it would be worth it.

I'm not telling her about this though.

windchime · 31/05/2014 19:12

Madness. You know they are just women paid to dress up as the characters, don't you Confused

NotYouNaanBread · 31/05/2014 19:13

Is in the context of a 2k holiday? In that case, I suppose so, why not. Otherwise, why on earth would you spend that sort of money? A 3 year old hasn't a clue that she's NOT meeting them unless you tell her.

nachohousekeeper · 31/05/2014 19:14

If you haven't found it already, go to a forum called the DIBB. People on there are experts and will be able to tell you the best way to do it.

TerrifiedMothertobe · 31/05/2014 19:14

Do it. I'm not sure why everyone is so down on you. Your money, your holiday. Have a fab time.

curiousgeorgie · 31/05/2014 19:15

Ikea - collecting shells on a beach versus Disney World is a no brainer for a 3 year old!!

She's so excited already and we don't go for nearly 4 months...

September / October is a really quiet time (we've been before then) so most things won't have queues, but we can definitely use the fast pass for a couple of things... Anna & Elsa, maybe a ride and a parade slot.

She's worth it, she's going to absolutely love every second Grin I can't wait!

Nacho - that's where I heard about this loophole Wink

I changed my mind. I just looked on the Disney website and they are not impressive. My dd has the dress and wig and looks similar to the dressed up Elsa (i.e. not very much like the actual character). That is a shame.

curiousgeorgie · 31/05/2014 19:17

And she would know if she didn't meet them. She knows they 'live in Disney' and is bouncing off the walls about meeting Elsa. She talks about it every day!

OP posts:
curiousgeorgie · 31/05/2014 19:19

My DD has the dress and stuff too.., but it's not the same as meeting the 'real' Elsa in a themed setting..

FaFoutis · 31/05/2014 19:21

Hope she enjoys it curious.

Thudercatsrule · 31/05/2014 19:23

We've just left DisneyLand and the queues to see Frozen were incredible! Luckily I have boys and they hate Frozen with an absolute passion, but I would easily £68+ for them to see someone they loved! We queued for ages ages for them to see Ironman and if I could paid for them to meet Captain America and Thor I would have done!

Hulababy · 31/05/2014 19:26

You can still book FastPass online up to 30 days in advance, but Disney hotel guests have access to FP 60 days in advance - herein lies the problem.

For most rides and activities it isn't really an issue. For Frozen, at the moment, it is.

By Sep/Oct it may have died down a bit maybe. But no way of knowing.

It depend on how much it is worth it to you as a family. In the grand scheme of costs then £68 as part of the package probably isn't that big, seeing as the holiday itself will come into a few thousand.

Skina · 31/05/2014 19:26

Sounds fab, I'll be doing that for sure as well.
