and that we all have such delicate constitutions that eating bread gives us an attack of the vapours and means we need a lie down.

I can only assume that it was on the same memo that said that we can only eat quinoa that we have knitted ourselves or organic home grown couscous.

Go on, Yama

You know you want to Grin

Pipbin · 29/05/2014 18:54

Did you Yama can you forward it? Was it the one that also said that toilet brushes are dirty and wrong?

Pipbin · 29/05/2014 18:57

Oh, and did it have the bit about fruit being bad and you might as well eat haribo as an apple?

BellaVita · 29/05/2014 18:59

I love a good sandwich.

CarmineRose1978 · 29/05/2014 19:02

I love sandwiches. I'd have sandwiches for every meal for preference. A meal without delicious lovely bread is a wasted meal. Obviously not Chorleywood white sliced... Proper bread.

GiveTwoSheets · 29/05/2014 19:02

If had my way we would have sandwiches for dinner not just lunch.

Nothing like a bacon sandwich for Sunday breakfast.

Really I may aswell eat harbo instead of apples? I'm adjusting my shopping list

elQuintoConyo · 29/05/2014 19:12

Fuck me, I couldn't live without regular sangers Shock

Fwiw I have never even seen kin-oh-a (obviously the correct pronunciation).

Cous cous is a bit early-90s, but I'll still eat it if I'm listening to some Pete Tong

Pipbin · 29/05/2014 19:13

Proper bread yes!!
But then I do remember when every meal was accompanied with a plate of butter white sliced.

Pipbin I was in Tiger recently and they had loo brushes that were designed to look like flowers. With the business end as the flower. Pearls. Clutch. Much.

But back to the bread thread

r2d2ismyidealman · 29/05/2014 19:16

Sandwiches are boring.

curlyHedgehog · 29/05/2014 19:18

Yanbu. I couldn't live without my daily sandwiches. Bread is good for you, as is exercise. I try to do a bit of both.

LeBearPolar · 29/05/2014 19:18

I must admit, I do agree with you about that other thread - I definitely missed the sandwich memo. I love a good sandwich, me. But clearly I should be making wraps and salads and omelettes and soups and...

pandarific · 29/05/2014 19:19

Well, Atkins came out many moons ago pointing out that refined grains = sugar and there's been several hundred other books, diets, and stories in the media for the last 10 years or so, so er, yeah. You missed the memo some time ago.

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 29/05/2014 19:20

I fucking love sandwiches.

greencatseyes · 29/05/2014 19:21

M&S haven't received any memos at all recently. Sandwiches in there today were the same as 1994 - but with less veggie options - chicken, chicken, chicken, some ham..... I used to love M&S sandwiches but they didn't even have the massively unhealthy doorstep ploughmans today

wellhellobeautiful · 29/05/2014 19:21

I love a sandwich.

I love bread and cake. All that stuff. Love it.

I'm sure I'd be much healthier if I avoided it all but life's too short.

ReadyToBreak · 29/05/2014 19:21

Love sandwiches, especially made with thick, soft white bread. Or even just a slice of said bread with a thick layer of real butter on it as a snack.

Eatriskier · 29/05/2014 19:22

I eat sandwiches and quinoa and couscous. Screw you and screw your rules Grin

LeBearPolar · 29/05/2014 19:22

Yes, but I thought Atkins was one of the diet myths that had been debunked.

flipchart · 29/05/2014 19:22

Nobody, including me, at ok eats sandwiches everyday.
In fact at home we can go a couple of weeks without buying bread.

No big deal. A sandwich is a nice treat.

Pipbin · 29/05/2014 19:26

Pipbin I was in Tiger, you were in what?

Anyway, I just had a crust of bread with Waitrose Brittany butter on it. It's lovely, like uber salted butter. I'll be dead by morning for sure.

LemonPipLimePeel · 29/05/2014 19:29

Sandwiches are beautiful, sandwiches are fine

I like sandwiches, I eat them all the time

I eat them for my supper, and I eat them for my lunch

If I had a hundred sandwiches, I’d eat them all at once!

This is the chorus from one of my favourite songs for little ones Grin
There are still loads of people enjoying sandwiches, in a sub bun, fried, baked, grilled, in a pita pocket, open faced, fancy, dagwood, all sorts!

My current favourite is sliced steak, red pepper, baby spinach, red onion and black pepper with bit of provolone cheese, grilled on a wrap.
