Have you had any rehydration sachets? You need to stay hydrated.

TheLowestFormOfWit · 28/05/2014 21:54

You should call environmental health on the restaurant.

Hope you feel better.

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 21:54

I didn't have any rehydration sachets on me
As I was away from home

I couldn't even stand
It was worse than childbirth

Are you ok now?

Are you sure it was food poisoning?

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 21:57

Do you think it could have been the curry
.?

I did have a prawn mayo sandwhich from m and s at lunchtime
But felt fine after, had that about 12 noon

I have had this and felt exactly the sane as you, I nearly called an ambulance to, the pain was excruciating, I put it down to food poisoning as well.
Hope you feel better now.

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:01

Honestly I was right on the verge of calling them
as I just didn't know what to do

I was like this last time I had d&v. Managed to phone DH from the bathroom as felt like I was going to pass out. He said I was literally grey. Had to keep dropping to floor to get any relief from the pain - yes, agree it was worse than childbirth. Don't blame you for nearly calling an ambulance. I was close to asking DH to call one - not sure what they would have done though!

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:09

I was saying to my dh please please help me

and he was going oh you'll be ok

I said I think I might need an ambulance
he said as if they come out for food poisoning

Probiotic tablets really help, I had a nasty case of food poisoning last year that lasted 10 days (exacerbated by IBS) and I genuinely thought I would die at one point. Ended up hospitalised due to dehydration so keep up your fluids!

Bellezeboobian · 28/05/2014 22:10

Oh you poor thing. I'd ring the out of hours doctor first and then see what they'd have said

how do you feel now?

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:10

I wonder if the ambulance people can put you on a drip?

OP posts:
PeachyParisian · 28/05/2014 22:10

And don't take Imodium because it will actually take the bug longer to get out of your system!

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:10

I was in a hotel at the seaside

I nearly called reception and said I need a dr....

You need to get your faeces tested, then they can trace what it is that has affected you.

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 28/05/2014 22:20

You poor poor thing. I too can sympathise with the dropping to the floor thing, I once felt so so dreadful, every time I sat up (which had to be done to get on the loo) I could literally feel my bp drop and thought I would pass out. Then there's the temperature changes, the cramping agony of the stomach pains. It's just horrible.

I hope you're feeling a bit more like yourself now. Fluids and sleep if you can manage it.

BerniceBroadside · 28/05/2014 22:24

You poor thing.

For future reference you can easily make your own rehydration solution from a mix of salt, sugar and water. Sip a spoonful every five or ten mins.

BerniceBroadside · 28/05/2014 22:26

I think it's one teaspoon of salt, eight teaspoons of sugar and a litre of water, but do check!

ElephantGoesToot · 28/05/2014 22:27

Sounds like salmonella. I had it once from some bad hummus, and it is the sickest I've ever been in my life. And how I know my husband really loves me.

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:29

Yeah I thought I was going to blackout
was rught on the verge

I wouldnt call an ambukance lightly
I n fact I've never called one in my life

even though in hindsight I should have once when I had a really bad miscarriage and hemmorage
I actually think I put my life in danger that time and I was an idiot to not call 999
But I was terifed they would make me have a erpoc op

ihaveadirtydog · 28/05/2014 22:30

Grin - yes mine too elephant. Poor man - one minute sleeping peacefully the next having to attend to... well, I don't need to go into details. I'll never forget the look on his face!

Madcatgirl · 28/05/2014 22:30

I had similar three weeks after I had ds2 by emcs. It was the most appalling pain ever and childbirth was fresh in my memory. I ended up taking Imodium because I needed it to stop I was so terrified of bursting my scar. I could only crawl because if I stood up my blood pressure dropped. You are not being unreasonable.

PandaPicnic · 28/05/2014 22:36

My dh just stayed in bed

OP posts:
RhondaJean · 28/05/2014 22:47

I don't want to frighten anyone but please never assume this is food poisoning, especially if you have a temperature too.

My "food poisoning" was bacterial pneumonia, septicemia and peritonitis and I did nearly die. My DH is the only reason I am still alive - he kept phoning the doctor/ooh until eventually a paramedic realised what was going on an I was hospitalised.

It's rare to get but I would never ever assume, especially with severe and uncontrollable d and v and pain, that it is food poisoning and try to ride it out.
