To send my sandwich back to be cut up?

Just phoned my husband from the bedroom (struggling with 4 month sleep regression baby) and asked him to make me a sandwich. Tomato puree with ham. Yum yum. Brings it up. . . Whole!!

I made him go back and cut it in half. AIBU or should I have been grateful to get it in the first place?

I can't eat a sandwich that's not cut at least in half. Even barmcakes (bap, muffin, insert colloquial name for bread roll here). I cut burgers in half!

LaurieFairyCake · 24/05/2014 21:43

I also can't get past tomato purée

You big fucking weirdo Wink

Horopu · 24/05/2014 21:44

Do you mean tomato puree or tomato ketchup missknows ?

Because if you are squirting tomato puree into your mouth you are beyond help. Tomato ketchup is not quite so bad.

QOD · 24/05/2014 21:44

Tomato diarrhoea sandwich?

MrsChickPea · 24/05/2014 21:44

FREEKY EATERS.... A lady on there ate SO MUCH TARTAR SAUCE. Don't go the same way. Normal people do not squirt tomato puree in their gob. Have a little look at Channel 5 On Demand. You need to stop this now.

Bearbehind · 24/05/2014 21:45

I'm more intrigued know know if it is 'cut up' or 'cutted up'

The latter just sounds wrong.

Bettercallsaul1 · 24/05/2014 21:46

This thread has raised so many interesting problems!

MrsChickPea · 24/05/2014 21:47

There is no such phrase as 'cutted up' in any context! It is always cut up!

Bettercallsaul1 · 24/05/2014 21:48

I think we could be getting into text and texted territory....

missknows · 24/05/2014 21:48

Tomato puree :-)
Tomato sauce is nasty.

And it's cut unless you are talking about pears!

My dd is 7 weeks old now and since I'm breastfeeding most of my meals have either been pre cut up for me or served in a bowl with a spoon. A sandwich would definitely need to be cut up. Even my ds (21 months) was feeding me biscuits earlier :)

Bearbehind · 24/05/2014 21:49

Thanks mrscp, I thought so. Now I can worry about more pressing issues, like squirting tomato purée straight into your mouth- yuk

MrsChickPea · 24/05/2014 21:49

Is texted a word?!!!! GONE! (not really, but surely texted is not a word - sounds SO wrong).

TheSpottedZebra · 24/05/2014 21:50

I bloody LOVE tomato puree.
In a cheese toastie - so good.

Bearbehind · 24/05/2014 21:51

and it's cut unless you are talking about pears!

Why- what's different with pears?

diddl · 24/05/2014 21:52

So it was two slices of bread with a revolting filling?

A sandwich is supposed to be easy to hold, isn't it & therefore needs cutting?

Possibly not if the bread is toasted.

Is an English sandwich when it's cut into 4 & crustless?

Specify that next time to avoid any laziness confusion.

IneedAwittierNickname · 24/05/2014 21:52

My ex never used to cut up sandwiches either, used to drive me mad!
Gosh, I really don't miss him!

missknows · 24/05/2014 21:52

Have any of you people who are saying tomato puree is nasty even tried it? Go and try it and then come back and comment. It's delicious.

OP posts:
Bearbehind · 24/05/2014 21:52

Texted and cutted both sound wrong.

missknows · 24/05/2014 21:53

Pears. Cutted up pear. Long story.

OP posts:
missknows · 24/05/2014 21:53

That's because they are both wrong!

OP posts:
Fairylea · 24/05/2014 21:53

I am another one stuck at tomato puree and ham in a sandwich.

Nope. Can't move on from that really.

WandaDoff · 24/05/2014 21:53

On MN it is 'cutted up' , because of the cutted up pear thread in classics.

Tomato puree in a sandwich is all kinds of wrong IMO

Janethegirl · 24/05/2014 21:54

Pinot Grigio is the answer, though not in a sandwich Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 24/05/2014 21:55

Past tense of "text", MrsChickPea - don't tell me you''ve missed all the, um, lively debates on MN on this vital issue?
