It is expensive, but so cool. It would be great for when friends come round in the summer months.

It would take lots of room though.

Would I be mad? I was thinking as an early birthday present? For a nearly 4 year old.

Depends on whether it'll take a pissed up adults weight Grin

I would say YABU, unless you're loaded and can't think what else to do with the cash.

She's four and would be happy with something for 10/20 quid, why would you want to shell out the other 280 for the same reaction?

Canthisonebeused · 17/05/2014 00:36

Out of your mind, how much Wine have you had

fluffymouse · 17/05/2014 00:38

lol no wine.

I work lots so feel bad about not seeing dd - hence wanting to treat her. Can afford it.

Would I be crazy?

Yes it can hold one boozy adult at a time

I certainly wouldn't buy it on the basis of guilt. Why don't you plan a day trip then and have quality time together.

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 17/05/2014 00:43

With the amount of time it would take to blow it up and fill it with water I don't think it would be with the effort tbh. Especially when it can only be used in summer and on days when it's warm enough outside which don't exist in the UK

pictish · 17/05/2014 00:46

Ha ha! You will blow it up, and fill it up but once...then never again will it see the light of day.
Trust. Me.

whatchatalkinboutwillis · 17/05/2014 00:48

And it will pop within 5 minutes

fluffymouse · 17/05/2014 00:49

But its so cool!

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 00:51

She might not even like it.

We've bought things we're convinced DD1 would love and it couldn't have been further from the truth.

That makes us sound shit parents Grin but there's as much chance them going for something small and insignificant (to you) as they are for a huge wow present.

KatoPotato · 17/05/2014 00:52

Nah, the novelty will wear off so super quick and you'll be left with a damaged lawn and 600yards if polythene to try and dry (or it'll go foosty) and store! Just go to the swimming baths!

pictish · 17/05/2014 00:53

It does look amazing...but you would be mad, yes. It's £300!!

WorraLiberty · 17/05/2014 00:56

It looks amazing and I would have loved that as a child and adult Grin

But if you're feeling guilty, hugs and one on one attention is the way to go for both of you imo.

I've seen too many documentaries etc where kids with busy working parents, have derided them for trying to make up that time with gifts rather than attention Flowers

WhereHas1999DissappearedToo · 17/05/2014 01:04

It does look fun, but they can pop very easily and that will be £300 wasted.

crimson54 · 17/05/2014 01:10

YABU. Just get a paddling pool/inflatable swimming pool instead and fill it with balls. Kids love balls. Mine's been grabbing his all evening.

MexicanSpringtime · 17/05/2014 01:10

Definitely avoid the guilt thing, that is a hide onto nothing, give your child quality time to make up for the lack of quantity.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/05/2014 01:15

We've got a bouncy castle - an ex-hire one with a bloody noisy blower type thing.

It's out most the summer and we lend it to friends, best xhundredpounds we've spend on the DC.

The teenagers love it. ;-)

So I'd say go for it.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/05/2014 01:17

Oh. My tired eyes. I can see that yours is a watery type thing. Well, still go for it, if you think you'll get a lot of use for it.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/05/2014 01:17

Out if it.

AgentZigzag · 17/05/2014 01:18

She's an irrational four year old though Chaos.

There's no accounting for them sometimes.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/05/2014 01:21

Indeed, and I guess with copious DC, the odds of dome of them being enthused were greater.

Wink
Ludways · 17/05/2014 01:21

Bugger the kids, I want it!!

ChaosTrulyReigns · 17/05/2014 01:21

Some.

Sigh.

I really need to find my clarity bone tonight.

Kafri · 17/05/2014 07:30

Will ago it year old understand the concept of 'early birthday present'? Or is it not a birthday gift at and she'll get more on her birthday anyway?!

Personally I'd rather use the £300 on trips out over the summer which don't exactly come cheap and I'm sure I could budget in that £300 to go to swimming a few times even to the pool a bit further away that had the waves and slides to play on

Kafri · 17/05/2014 07:30

Oh dear, supposed to read

'Will a 4yo.....'

Brabra · 17/05/2014 07:39

That looks pretty shit.
We had one that was the size of one you would hire, but it was still quite limited in its appeal.
