It is expensive, but so cool. It would be great for when friends come round in the summer months.

It would take lots of room though.

Would I be mad? I was thinking as an early birthday present? For a nearly 4 year old.

Will we have enough good weather for you to get a decent amount of use out of it? I think I would go with a trampoline over that. The people I know with trampolines get a lot of use out of it, and it keeps the children entertained and exercising , in view of the house.

Have you considered a giant play house/tree house if you can afford it, one that DC can play making house in when young, and sit about in it as a den house with friends when older, then a stop them from drinking and smoking in it hang out space for when a teenager. Yes you'll have to spend more to get the last item, but maybe get it as a 'real' birthday present?

It's a hell of lot of money for something that will be pointless if we get a rainy, grim summer.

It does look fantastic, though.

NoodleOodle · 17/05/2014 07:51

Also, take her to a large water park, now those places are cool. And as an added bonus, I've found that children always sleep marvelously afterwards, similarly with the evening after a normal swimming pool session.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 17/05/2014 07:51

Get a mini golf bouncy castle instead. Put a normal slide into a normal paddling pool and spend the extra money on a night away for the two of you.

But I'll admit I do now want one!

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2014 07:53

Cheap ordinary slide
Tarpaulin
Hose
Washing up liquid

NoodleOodle · 17/05/2014 07:59

I think these type of things are cool, can be used all year round, and can give children and young people a place that feels private and just for them, whereas even if their own bedrooms it's still 'your house, your rules'.

You can get better ones, I just picked out one off the site you were already on www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Outdoor-and-Sports/Playhouses-and-Tents/Playhouses/Plum-Premium-Wooden-Adventure-Playhouse%280106538%29?searchPosition=7 as an example

YANBU My Mil got my DDs one of those when we went to stay for three months and they LOVED it. ALL the kids who came loved it. It was bloody fabulous! MIL lives abroad so it's hot there but it would work in the UK too if the kids are tough about the chillier days.

beware, whats on the outside of the box isn't always inside it....

It's a lovely thing but after the initial thrill will only come out on really sunny days. Why not go for something that can be used on less hot days (one of those ball tent/tunnel combos for example) and get the sprinkler out when the weather is good enough?

lessthanBeau · 17/05/2014 08:28

take no notice of the haters, we have something very similar, inflatable water slide with bouncy castle on the back of it, my dd age5 loves it and is in fact nagging me to get it out today, which we will, you dont blow them up they have a pump, it takes minutes to set up, we have had it since she was 2, it has had tons of use , you can use it without water if its a bit cooler. if you have the money and the space then go for it.

this is ours but we only paid £100 from tesco so shop around. www.fun4kids.co.uk/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/1955/s/duplay-happy-hop-giant-bouncy-castle-and-water-slide-16ft/?gclid=CNeNwoC3sr4CFbDJtAod1EsAGw

gratefulforwhatihavegot · 17/05/2014 08:29

I think buy it! if you work hard and can afford it it will mean that you can relax in the garden whilst they are playing and everyone's a winner. I don't think you are mad at all. You can get a pool for a pound from a car boot sale they might spend as much time jn, yes, but that's not the point is it

Nanasueathome · 17/05/2014 08:34

Just had a look at the web site
Item is out of stock
So you may need to search again or rethink

Nanasueathome · 17/05/2014 08:38

Look on amazon under happy hop

lessthanBeau · 17/05/2014 08:45

also check out ebay, these things last and last and people sell them on.

bluestrawhat · 17/05/2014 08:45

Will be a massive hassle to put up and down and only usable for a couple of days in the year. Take her to a waterslide pool instead www.splashdownwaterparks.co.uk/ and give her a present she can use more often that won't cost a fortune.

meisiemee · 17/05/2014 08:46

Get it, it looks great fun!
