Just been watching 'The Lie' on STV and one of the questions was something like 'is North West the child of whoever'. I thought that that was the lie but apparently it isn't

Yes it is Mrsjay. It makes poor prince Michael (1 and 2) name underdogs in that family.

I just think how ridiculous it is to give such names. These children aren't going to be children forever, and they're going to forever have the name hanging over them.
Buddy Bear might seem cute when they're a teeny baby, or North West might seem 'out there and cool' when you're the parent choosing the name. You're not the one who has to live with it all the way through life though, are you?!
I introduce my lawyer, Mr Buddy. Buddy Bear."Yep. That'll get him taken seriously. OK if he's growing up wanting to be a children's entertainer. Lawyer? Nope, not so much.
Same goes for North West. If she grows up to be a media type/ actor then yup, will fit right in. If she wants something a bit more down to earth then it's a bit of a name.

My university friend named her daughter Harper seven years ago, which I thought was a bit silly then. She wasn't happy with Harper Beckham, obvs.

There's virtually zero chance of North West growing up to be an accountant or similar.

Oh come now, Jermajesty is surely the best name ever given to a child in the history of the world - how can you not love it. Imagine calling him out on the register at school :)
